    Description:
This is the original #1 Kustom car named the "Monkeemobile" featured in the "Monkees" TV series, for the only rock 'n roll group that ever filmed a live-action TV series. It was also included as part of the Barris Hollywood Star Car Collection. Based on a 1966 Pontiac GTO. First designed by Dean Jeffries, then re-kustomized by George Barris of Barris Kustoms. The latest restoration was completed in 2007, frame-off, fully detailed, 100-point with added Arc Audio sound and TV system. The "Monkees" recorded their hit music with Rhino Records. Any and all third party clearances for the trademark use of the name "Monkees" will be the responsibility of the buyer. The sale will include the original ***le from Screen Gems and, of course, Barris Kustoms. This original car was used in the filming of the TV series, as well as promotional and exhibition feature attractions. It was also featured with the last appearance of the "Monkees" group at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and when the "Monkees" received the Key to the City of Los Angeles from Johnny Grant. George Barris will make a personal appearance at the auction of his car and will personally autograph the dashboard for the buyer.[/FONT]

i wonder how much attention to detail there was on the original car? and is it really fully functional or just a LOOKIE ME! car? That roof is kinda rediculous too..

  10. I remember Dean Jefferies saying how one of the cars he built for the show could do wheelies and the TV people freaked and made him tame the car down.....
