who makes an adaptor to put a t5 behind a 331 caddy. the motor came out of a 55 limo I'm redoing for a friend. the motor is locked right now...(that's why I have the motor) any help will be great! thanks, Bob
What's a tech question doing in the intro section? I'm sure with a few google searches you can find an adapter company like Wilcap that makes one...
sorry if I used a taboo term...I am planning to build a fenderless 40 for pickup with dropped axle, shorty bed, etc. I always thot of that as traditional. thanks, Bob
Trust me, we're the nicest assholes you'll meet in this joint...what kinda pickup is that caddy motor going in?
a 40 ford sometime in the future...right now I'm putting my 55 f100 custom back on the road and building a 53 stude pickup into a late 50's early 60's gasser clone. thanks, Bob
trying to get that 55 caddy motor unlocked. pulled the heads and am soaking the cylinders with pb blaster daily, but she's locked tight. anyone got any better ideas? thanks, Bob
I got my 49 unlocked by soaking in in a mix of marvles mystery oil and PB Blaster for about three weeks....
Oh yeah, mine was also locked tighter then a virgin. My starter was also frozen so I had to remove it before hand turning the engine. As I mentioned, it took three weeks to do by blasting it every day and slowly rocking the crank back and forth.
If you already have the heads off, I would try taking a 2x4 and using that and a hammer to 'lightly' knock on those piston tops. Spray everything down with penetrating oil first of course. I have only done this on smaller inline motors but it might help
will try to get some pics of teh f100...the last ones wouldn't load with h.a.m.b.. looks like you have a f100 of your own. when in doubt, uncork the headers & floor it!
