This is a drum head that "Dirtydag" painted for me this week. It's a birthday gift for a friend of mine who has a "one woman band". I gave him the blank head, a vague idea for what I wanted and a short timespan to get it done. Wow! It is way beyond what I had pictured in my head. The birthday party is tomorrow and I can't wait to give it to her. She is going to shit herself when she see this. Thanks Dag! If anyone here in the Cleveland, Ohio area needs pinstriping or lettering Darrin "Dirtydag" is the man.

This is some of the best work I've seen on a Friday so far...you guys (and gals) are outdoing yourselves!

  6. These color renderings look great. Am I correct in assuming thats mix media with markers as the primary?
    Beautiful work.

Been busy with lots of other stuff lately but I did do a little striping yesterday on a little box I had. Really does not compare to the talented stripers on here, but I won't quit.

  10. That Chevy there looks like a l'il friction toy I once had. (I think there's a HAMBified one on last Sundays model post.) Very nice painting.

...oh and,... who shaved that monkey???

Funny stuff. I just go 'ape' over Ting's things!

    Jigger,
Yeah man, I got the perspective pretty off on that Chevy. :D

It's kinda bugging me too....so I think I'm going to go back into it and put some hairy arms and a shifter on it. Kinda monsterfy it up some.

    Thanks for the compliments!

    Tingler,
Just wanted to say that I,personally, have always admired your coloring schemes...on shirts, canvas, whatever....

And yes,we still own a highly-prized monster shirt from a certain person...

    Very best,
    Ace & Kali

  15. CAB, I really like your stencils. I find laser cut pieces will produce a similar effect but I haven't tried creating something that aligns multiple layers. Might be a new direction for me.
    Corngrower I like your B & W's.
Natas I appreciate your linework along with your final artwork. I am trying to teach myself Illustrator and this helps me visualize what I need to do.

This is the second drawing I was working on over the holidays. I took it a little farther and created a laser cut piece ~12"x31" from the original artwork. A lot of little details though... probably need need to simplify it to make a stronger image.

  16. One more, This one's for/from 'Brianangus' HAMB member. He supplied the line work on the Early V-8 symbol thread. A quick scale and offsetting of parts and I was able to produce a 12" x18" V8 emblem.

Coloring schemes? I got red yellow and blue and I paint straight from the tubes. :D It only looks complex cause I just try and jam any and every color I can come up with into it. Believe me, there is no scheming going on.:D

I try and practice the "NO MIND" method of painting. Eliminate your thoughts. Empty your head.....then paint. No brain, no headaches. haha.

It's good to see you two kickin around and whoopin it up. Tell Kali to hang in there. Keep making art and be happy.

  19. As usual, the Art Show's rockin'! :D Thanks for sharin' with the rest of us!

    Hey guys,
This car was simplified for the Paso show shirt about a year ago. I may have posted the van before, If I did, I apologize. I know this forum's for traditional cars but here's the first poster I did for Dice. I'm working on poster #4 now.

This is cool. I used to have a large canvas banner with a dowel at each end with the same logo on it. Now that I don't have it anymore, I wish I still did.

    Nice work.

I was trying to do some "quick art"....... It wasn't so quick. I'm not a stenciler- but I had to be one to get this right. These are spray paint and silkscreen on ground steel. They are limited signed and #'ed of 16 total. I have 5 available that I'll be selling in the classifieds.
By the way- rad work everyone!!!!

fortypickup, I really like that 4dr sedan turned "crew cab" look. Build that bad boy! Look like it will fit a crew of two when it's done. lol

    To Gee also...

Yes. Primarily Prismacolor markers.. 99% markers. Black is all Sharpie, and white is paint or Prisma colored pincil. All on cheep ass 11x17 copy paper. The copy paper kills your markers but in sucking them dry, gives you good fades. Good and bad I guess. These were just conceptual drawings for builders. If someone orders an actual "Drawing" of there car for there house, I do it right, Ill board, paints, markers, everything.

Man, a couple years back I did a STEP BY STEP on coloring with markers to get this same affect.. I think it was in a Fri art show. Woulda been maybe 2 years ago? If any of you got it, show it. It was pretty good.

    Thanks guys.

    Joshua Shaw.

Here is a quick drawing I did last night. I've never posted any of my sketches here and thought someone might enjoy it. There is some very good stuff here. Just wondering what kind of tools, markers, or pens everyone is using though. I sketched this out with pencil colored it with a cheap set of prismacolor markers and used a regular pilot pen to outline, took me about an hour to complete.
