Mine seemed to charge back up (slowly) much better with the charger set at 2 amps. I left it hooked up for a good 10-12 hours and the car cranked over great. This was after the car had sat in the cold, cold weather for 1-1/2 months and didn't even have dim dash lights when I turned the key on. Malcolm
Why would you be using an Optima anyways? They don't have the lead content or the enveloping *is that a word?* of a Magna. If you want high quality with industrial staying power, get a Magna. This is me, discussing batteries.
Which takes me back to the Magna.........the cold cranking amps on them is FAR superior then anything else you can buy. And no I'm NOT a battery salesman.
I call BS on that! Haha... Brandy gets kick-backs from Magna... JK (my Optima was actually in a Bronco that I owned for a short time, so I kept it and put a cheapo battery in the Bronco when I sold it.) I normally wouldn't spend the extra $$ for an Optima - usually would go with a good AC Delco battery....
Hahahaha no really, I'm not. I'm in the AG/Construction Equipment bidness. All of our tractors run them. They always start, you can tip them over and they don't leak. They vent differently, they have a higher content of lead and with rising lead prices, they're still relatively cheap to purchase and they've got great cranking capabilities. I use them in all of my cars now........I'll NEVER go back. Too many times I've gone out to a flat battery that I've kept maintained, but just didn't have the guts. Other thing also, they totally hold up to radios, a/c units, generators.......basically you can put them under a large load and they never flinch. Maybe I should go into battery sales? HAHAHAHA.
