Guys there may not be nothing to this then may be there will.I just got through chatting online with a guy in Virginia! I am buying a Vega steering box from him for my project off racing junk.He told me he has an OLD wrecking yard about 45 miles from him back in the mountains and that it has about 1000 old 40's, 50's and 60's vehicles and told me he was going there tomorrow to get some studebaker parts for a friend and asked me if I was needing anything else. Of course I gave him the list of things Santa didn't bring me LOL but I am going to try to get the guy to check out the site here and check the wanted section and see if he can help anybody out with parts. I will try to keep you guys informed because it sounds like it might be a pretty good source for some parts.

The fellow I am talking with is David and his address is in Salem Virginia. I am mailing him an $80.00 money order for a real nice looking vega steering box with a pitman arm. I just bought one off e bay for $140.00 but this one looks even better for $80.00 and for $80.00 that even includes shipping. I will let you guys know how the transaction goes with the steering box. I told David about the H.A.M.B site and that a lot of guys were looking for items so for him to check out the board and see what people are looking for and he may be able to help some people out and put some $$$ in his pocket. He stated to me that the guy that owns the wrecking yard is way cheaper than most folks on parts. Hopefully it will be a source for some needed and sought after pieces for Hot rods.

When he was describing the old yard he just said 40's ,50's, and 60's stuff but that don't mean there is no 30's items.I am going to e mail him again and get a number to call him and then I am going to see if it is OK to give you guys his contact information. If he says OK I will either post it on the board or e mail it to you guys interested and then you can see what he can find for you. I sure hope it turns out he can locate some items for people and including some of the things I am looking for. Should know more tomorrow or Saturday. Bear with me and we will see what we can get rolling here.

I am not looking to be popular just like trying to help people out ! Here is the update. Dave went to the wrecking yard, said he took about 30 pictures used up all the disc space he had. Said that the car's etc range from late 30's to 70's and he is going to e mail me the pictures. Now here is a catch! I am not good at posting pictures so I will have to e mail them to someone that knows more about computers than me.
I am sure hoping this turns out to be a good parts source for a lot of you Guys and Gals ! These old wrecking yards are dying off year by year and getting harder and harder to find! Dave seems to be a really good guy. I sent a money order to him today for a vega steering box he had for sale on racing junk. That is how I ran across him and got to talking on the net and he mentioned the Wrecking Yard. So Whoever wants to post the pictures for all to see e mail me at
bigblock396540@yahoo.com I will be glad to e mail the pictures he sends to anyone that wants to see them. Also Dave gave me his Cell # and I am going to get his personal e mail address also and If he wants me to I will either Post it or send it to whoever wants it. But he has to give me the OK first. I explained to him that you guys and Gals are looking for some items and he seemed to be excited to be able to help out if he can find what you are looking for. Damn my old fingers are getting SORE! LOL I will let you know more when I get the pictures!

Well Ratmotor I think we all knew some girls like that! LOL but I ain't teasing just posting what I know. I do HAVE PICTURES! He is right it is a pretty old junkyard and looks like there may be SOME parts there we will just have to see what can be scrounged and saved. So Who wants to post the picturse on the HAMB site for all to see! The first batch is not much old stuff the second page has the older cars. Of course this is just a sample of what is there.Could pan out to be pretty productive or could be a dud! E mail me somebody that will post the pictures!

Thats easy for you to say you know how to do it! I have them in an e mail from the sender. I have sent them to everyone that has e mailed me which is about 10 people so far and I prefer to get them posted because my FINGERS are getting SORE!. A couple of people are suppose to post them on the site. We will see who is on the ball and gets them posted first! I wasn't ********ting when I said my computer skills are LIMITED! I can tear apart an engine lathe , milling machine, car, truck, jet plane, tank etc and rebuild it completely and I can hit a bullseye at 1200 yards! But computing is my weak point! LOL

You are correct but he did tell me this was just a few of the cars and that there were a WHOLE LOT more and they are ****tered all over. What will be best is contact Dave he is the one that has access to the place and tell him what you are looking for and maybe he can get some specific pictures of certain cars or parts etc.
Again I hope that a lot of you loking for items can find something here.I just happened up on this and thought I would p*** the information along with hopes it may help some people. From what Dave has told me there are a lot of late 30's 40's,50's 60's stuff and some later items as well. In the pictures you will see some older stuff, how much older it gets I don't know anything other than what Dave has told me.
Remember I am just p***ing this information along with hopes it may help some people. Please do not get mad at me if the parts you need are not there. I have no control over what is there or not there! So far Dave has done exactly as he said, there is an old wrecking yard as he said, there are a bunch of old cars there as he said and he did send the pictures as he said he would. Just hang in there and be positive and see what turns up out of this place!

I just received another note from Dave and he says that the pictures he sent today was just a few of the many many many cars there in this place! He also said the guy has a couple of barns and numerous trailers full of stuff removed from cars and trucks. He said if you have a request for something e mail him and he will try to get pictures of it for you if it is there. He said the one barn is full of radios, etc. He said he will get some more photos and try to take some better ones than today. He said the pictures today do not do the place justice at all. Again I really do hope some of you find the items you are looking for, and please do not get mad at me or Dave if it is not there. Thanks to Druss32 for posting the pictures and here is information on how to get hold of Dave.

    Thanks

Bobby Dodson Bigblock396540@yahoo.com Do not e mail me for parts in this wrecking yard please contact Dave Wilson. I am only about 1500 miles from this place so I can't help. Some of you have PM'ed me asking for certain parts. I will say it again.I met Dave online over on Racing Junk where I purchased a vega steering box from him and he was telling me about this place and I thought about you guys and gals on the H.A.M.B. site from items I read in the wanted section. From what Dave told me and what I seen in the wanted items it seemed like the date of cars was in the same year range for some of you. If I can help someone find something I certainly will.I know first hand how difficult it is to find all the items you need working on the Hot Rods.
I am retired and I do spend some time on the computer( PROBABLY A LOT MORE THAN I SHOULD) and I always look at the wanted items and If I happen to locate something you may be looking for I will PM you or email you. I do not look to make anything off anyone on any parts I may find. Beleive it or not I just like helping people out, also I do not sell many of my parts! I am a COLLECTOR acording to my WIFE of 33 Very Happy Years Of Marriage. And most of you don't want no stinking MOPAR MUSCLE CAR parts anyways.

    Thanks

Coolhand thanks for your work and the link to the pictures.I had e mailed them to numerous people and Druss32 just happen to get them posted up first. I do appreciate your time on them though and I am sure the other members do as well. The common goal is to get them up so members can see some of what is there and contact Dave to see if he can find some things they are looking for so hot rods can get one step further closer to completion !

Thanks a million for your work

I was more grumpy with myself for having taken so long to create that simple web page.

It seems my web authoring skills have atrophied since I have taken on less nerdly pursuits.

There did seem to be a few cars in the lot worth dragging out, and likely some parts that are usable as well. How far off the beaten track is this place? That'll make a lot of difference on how "savable" a lot of those are.

I have no idea exactly where the place is other thn 45 minutes or so from Salem Virginia. You will have to contact David and ask him.He is the person that knows where the cars are at, he has access to it and told me about the place and asked me if I was needing any other parts than the steering box I purchased from him. And of course I was and am looking and gave him a list of items.
All I wanted to do after hearing him tell me about the wrecking yard was to try and get some pictures of the place and let you Guys and Gals know about it to see if there might be some parts that you all are searching for. I just hope a lot of you can locate some parts out of this place.
If so then my goal was achieved in helping others, and some Hot Rods will get some NEW/OLD Parts for them! I agree that after looking at the photos looks to me like there are quite a few salvagable items. And just remember that Dave says this is just a FEW of the cars and trucks and that there are buildings, trailers, vans etc full of items also.
I asked Dave to sign up to the site here and basically take over on this being he is the one that has all the information. If you guys and Gals are like me I prefer to deal with the HEAD GUY IN CHARGE! Not a third party. My whole goal here was to just try to help people find parts they need at a reasonable price. Dave was real reasonable with me on my steering box purchase so I am sure he can and will treat everyone fair and honestly

    Thanks

    Bobby Dodson.
