Hey guys, i'm looking for inspiration to my '56 Victoria. She's looking a bit dull at the moment, and i want her to shine! If you got some fancy images to share of nice looking '56s i'd be glad, i've scanned the net but most pics i find are of original restored ones. If you wanna check my baby out as she is right now go here.
Here are a few that have caught my eye. The last one is mine and is in mid-makeover; more news in a while. The red & white one -- Larry Cerny's -- is actually a '55 with a '56 roof, but it's so nice I had to include it. If I had your car, I'd lower it a bunch and put wide whites on it. After that it's a matter of taste.
my pop's had a blue and white one sitting like the one in the b/w shot back in late 50's early 60's while in the army in texas....had skirts and Smithy's Mufflers....nice looking car...then when i came along he traded it in for a falcon wagon!!!!
Without a doubt, to me, the 56 Ford Victoria is the most beautiful car to come out of the 1950's! My Grandpa bought one new off the showroom floor in 1956. It was mint green and white. t-bird 312, w/stick and overdrive. I have seen many pictures of that car, it was a beauty. My 40 Ford coupe, and 56 Vicky, and I would never need another old car...
Thx alot guys, theres nothing like pics to get you going... I've got www's on the way, and will drop her about 2". The hood ornament is gone and i'll fill the holes and put some striping there instead, she'll be a bit cleaner but still pretty std.
God that brings back memories. My first American car was a 56 4 door,292 motor, inline shifter, lowered and finished in a deep purple with white pin striping. Thought I was the dogs bollocks (I was 15). I'd lower it, wide whites, nice caps and skirts
Putting black walls and mags on a fifty six or anything is like taking a hamburger to banquet, if you know what I mean.
My dads custom 56 Victoria with mercury grille, frenched 53 ford headlights, molded in rocker panels and front guards, tunneled custom tailights, inverted one piece rear bumper, he also moved out the section just above the rear bumper and below the boot lid so it is now flush with the boot lid and doesnt have that lip anymore.
Here is a picture of my 56'. I would definitly say it's the best looking 50's body style. I especaily like the 2 door wagons.
Go big or stay home ....I would play with the stance and wheel tire combo. That makes a huge difference.
Hall Bros!!!!!!!!! what a bad ass car. Nice web site of the team as well. Do you have shirts for sale?
I had four of 'em in high school, love those cars. That Hall Bros. car is definitely badass! I'd really like to find one & do it similar to my '56 Plymouth.
Hello, Im just did a search and found this older thread. are there any other pics of this car? I would like to see more if possible. I am mostly interested in the custom back bumper and how it was done. A more detailed pic would be awesome.
On these cars keeping it simple always looks better. Even with all the mods Tall Paul's dad's car looks like it should be just that way and doesn't have anything with a stuck on look. You can see that everything on it was well thought out before it was done. I like chrome bumpers though.
