I just bought a house with an alarm. prior owners can't remember the pass code. I would like to use it, but don't want to connect it to the monitoring station. Anyone know how to get the code, or reset a new code into it? It's an emergency networks model EN1550. Thanks to anyone that can help .....

  2. you have to know the pass code in order to re-program the system
a least thats how it works on the ones i have now and had in the past..

if anyone could re-program the alarm system what would be the point of an alarm system???

If they can't remember the pass code they most likely never used it. If they never used it they probably never set their own number meaning it is probably still operable with the default code.

Most are 4 digit codes. If you haven't already, try simple combinations like 0000, 9999 or 1234 or 4321 etc. or if your house # is 4 digits try that. If you can remove the main keypad from the wall look at the back of the unit. Sometimes people will use that space in case they forget.

LIke Rashy suggested Google the thing.

When you say you don't want to connect to the monitoring station, that tells me the previous owners alarm company is controlling your installer code. Tell the F...Ks that you own the alarm and wish to have another alarm company monitor it. They can easily default your alarm panel with their computer in their office. There is an installer code that all companies change. There should also be a user code that allows you to change your arm disarm code or codes. Both of those numbers must be put back to default. Don't allow the previous alarm company to control your property. Dominic
