The Kopper Kart project in Howell, NJ is coming along very well. As you can see in the photo, the ch***is and drivetrain are DONE and awaiting the cab and bed. With a few more days of effort we expect that the cab (seen in the background) will be ready to drop onto the ch***is for paint. From there, we are all off to Detroit in March.
Glad to hear. Looking forward to seeing it in person in March. If you guys get here and need any local help with anything, just let me know. 734-673-6930
Seriously though, the truth is the REAL cab was mated back to the ch***is yesterday and is getting its final wet sanding by chopolds in preparation for paint (soon). In this pic you can see the motor through the engine compartment and the truck finally has the correct stance now that it is off of the mock-up ch***is.
The truck isn't painted yet and you guys are actually planning on being in Detroit??? Wow those are going to be some long days and nights...... Good Luck!!! I can't wait to see the truck all done.
Out of curiousity, does anyone know the story of the original build. Who were the builders employed by Barris that did the actual work. I remember a picture that showed Jefferies and Watson in the shop around that time period, I wonder which one did the striping. I imagine that Walker did the paint. I wonder who did the bodywork. Was Sam still there at that time? I am looking forward to going to Detroikt to see the latest version and my hats off to you Jersey guys for bringing this piece of history back.
I will go to Detroit this year just to see this truck! I've followed its build here and cant wait to see it in person.
Come on now. There are something like 45 days left. Those guys on TV do this stuff in a week from beginning to end. No biggie. The truck is actually so close to paint I may just jump the gun and ask Right Arm Ed to run down to Lowes and get the Krylon tomorrow. I just need to see if he can find it in pearl and kopper.........
****....we've got spies in the shop! Who is this "***man"? A friend of right arm Ed? I'm going to get a "bouncer" for the door! God damn, I'm tired!
what douche rated this thread 1 star? '70s vans are where it's at, but I need to finish that '85 El Camino back there. This project has been great motivation to stay current with studies so I can make it up on weekends. I'm so psyched for Detroit
