Hey Guys there is a Dealer out there in Freeport Maine, He's called Goldenrod Garage at 88 Wardtown Rd. Has anybody heard anything about him Good or Bad? Thanks in advance,
I forgot to mention, I spoke to this Guy before so I already know he's a grouch. I'm just wonder if He's honest?
I live about 25 miles from there, and I've only been there once. The owner was very nice when I was there he let me and a friend roam around without guidance he had an amazing array of cars from the early 1900s to the 70s. I have lived here all my life and have never heard anything bad about the guy, all I know is he buys and sells old cars for a living. Good luck.
Hey, I have never bought anything from him but as before he has a ton of vintage tin. He seemed nice enough, I was there a couple of times. He's been around for years and that usually will tell you something about a business (my $.02). His place is really cool... a variety of cars there. JD
His name is Neil Martin. Been in business for years. I have sold to ,bought from, and traded with him and have no complaints. Give him a call. He's always is ready to talk and knows his stuff. Big and varied inventory. Could be discribed as a colorful character!!! Bob
I have been to his shop and he seemed like a nice guy to talk to. I have never done business with him though. LOTS of old stuff tucked away iin his place in Freeport.
He was cool with me. I stop in on my way back from Winterport dragway last summer. I told him I was A tire kicker and he still let me walk around.
My husband and i have been there a few times over the years and he has always been nice to us. Gives you free rein to wander the buildings and the grounds. Alot of cool stuff. He is a colorful character. The last time we were there he had on two different colored sneakers with different colored lacings in them. G***er Girl
~ Well, I feel better, maybe I just caught Him on a bad day. Plus I was tring to get him to drop the price on that Blue '38 Chevy Coupe. I guess as soon as my leaves are in one pile, I'll give him a call again. I'm off the '38 Coupe just to much dough and He wasn't budging. But he has some thing else I like. As Always Thank You for Your Help !
Here's an older thread on the same subject: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=135327 Check out DeSoto's comment.
Hey.. Been there a couple of times. Lots &* lots of "stuff". Don't seem to be a bad guy. I can only say that his cars seem to pretty high priced for what they are Pontiac Slim
~ I spoke with Neil on the phone the other day and he was frinedly and even joked a bit. I told him I was interested in a car he had and I was afraid to buy it with out seeing it. He quoted Pres. Roosevelt and said "the only thing to fear is fear itself." If anyone lives close enough, and you ca is willing to go and check a car out for me let be know You can pm me.
