My 55 olds has a 394 in it. I spoke to this guy once and he told me that there is a way of hooking up a GM 1 wire alternator by doing a little modification on original brackets. Now, I've reach the time to install the alternator on my ride and I was there last night going crazy and could not figure it out. If there is anyone out there that knows the procedures on how to do, please, let me in on this.
    thanx:confused:

Pictures may help, but if you can't fab that bracket to work ... check some local speed shops - they ususally have a few different brackets on the shelf and you may get one to work. If nothing local braket-wise, you can always try summit racing. Have you tried mounting it in a different area that "stock"?

Yeah, I'll definetly will check local speed shop, but i would rather use what I have already. Hoping someone here might have done it already. I have not tried mounting it any where else. I was just so into trying to figure out how to use the exsisting brackets.

Yeah I hear ya. You may try drilling a new hole or mounting it in a different place, like on the block or other head. What is your problem - is it mounting or holding the alternator? You may try different bolts/sleeves to get it to work...
