Watching an episode of Family Guy last nite on TBS, the one where they go to get a used car (the red car) from the Used Car Lot...turns out to be a real junker but...

Lois opens the hood and says "Peter, it doesnt even have an engine, just a picture of an engine" Pulls the drawing out from under the hood and it was a crude sketch of what looks like a Ford V8 flathead! I was shocked! It had from what I could see 3 exhaust ports, flat lil heads with 4 wires on the p***enger side, center mount generator and the water pump in about the right spot. Anyone else see that? Wonder if the writing team has some hot rodders on it? I thought it was neat.

  3. They's car guys all 'round us. Folk like us who put their sig on things like that episode.
Little things, that most don't see. I recall a Toyo ad, insignificant except for the licence plate - BSA 441. I loved that one.

Just another example of the obscure references to things that The Family Guy makes. Love that show.

Everything about this post is deeply disturbing, and now I have to go watch FG for hours and hours til I see the sketch. Now, somebody find flathead references on "Futurama" so I can watch all of that again...

Hey Bruce, most of the FG episodes are on Youtube and Putfile if you don't have them. What episode are we discussing? Anyone remember it's name?

I've seen that numerous times....I think it was just somebodies generic idea of an engine. They're not car guys....they draw/animate Brian's Prius WAY to accurate.
