dad came by after work and gave me a ride to go get my new to me 47 Chevy. this sucka is pretty nice for the price. i can see 3 maybe 4 spots i might have to weld patches in, and they are all easy spots to do.

first things first, the visor and fog lights GOTTA GO!! prolly Ebay the old vintage spot light too. carve the skinny whites into wide white, paint the rims nice and shiny and give it an altitude adjustment, that ought to be a good start. then give it a nice coat of dark blue (but not as dark as the stock color that is on it) tinted primer/sealer and she'll really be stylin! maybe on down the road add some lighter blue scallops or flames (nothing too dramatic), or even another color should i hear any good suggestions. definately gonna stick with blue fo the exterior color cause i don't want to paint the dash and other interior pieces. the whole idea is to do this as cheao and easy as possible cause i have WAAAAAYYYY too much other stuff goin on right now for another "project". this has got to stay within the realm of only a couple weekends work with the help of a couple good buds (any volunteers?? [IMG]).

the interior is way nice, grey cloth with a little black vinyl, needs a new rug though. original radio intact and it has the OPTIONAL heater!

the 235 purrs right along but smokes a little, but then it has'nt been run much in YEARS! need a 2x1 intake to go with the split exhaust that is on it, some finned goodies and a little engine paint takes care of under the hood.

i did notice on the ride home it needs an alignment something FIERCE!!! it's toed in so far the tires squealed all the way home (it was only 2 miles). i need to take a good hard look at the rest of the front end too.

enough of me jabberin on, here are the pics...

  7. Oh man, that's rad. Really classy car.

They look so nice shaved and bagged w/ Caddy caps and wide whites. A car like that deserves a clean paint, er, primer job too. A primer job that actually covers the door jambs and other nooks and crannies. Primer shot out of a gun. And yeah, lose that visor ASAP!

    Great score man.

  9. I love these cars! I photo-shopped your car to look like mine with red ford 16 inchers on it and black paint with some pontiac chrome trim...............

I cant photoshop the pic, but I think that powder blue wheels, with wide whites would look cool. Good call on getting rid of the visor and spot lights. Definately a cool car, and looks solid as hell. -Joe

That's cool Mike. Looks like something you can have some fun with. Will CB's VW actually fit in the trunk? [IMG] [IMG]

Those fog lights are worth a bit too if they are guides. Nice car.

This ride is as solid as Mike says. Him and CherryBlossom took me to check it out a couple of weeks ago. Big Olds has a little brother now! [IMG]

I think you should send that visor to California..... if I rememmber correctly, there were a couple of HAMB guys out there that really are into them. [IMG][IMG]

the trunk is not QUITE big enough for the Bug [IMG], but she wants to DRIVE it anyway.

the visor and fog lights go on Ebay as soon as i get em off. i know they are popular with the lowrider crowd. it's not my style really but i can appreciate what they do and these parts fit their style and look good.

thanks for the props, now git over here this weekend and help me work on the Bug and the Chevy so i can get to my "paying" jobs [IMG]...
