Recently purchased a 50 shoebox on HAMB from an out of state seller. It had a clean ***le, but here in Indiana you either have to take the car to the local License Bureau office where they walk out and verify the VIN # or, if you can't drive it into their parking lot, you have to have a police officer stop by your house/shop and fill out a form verifying the VIN. There was a lot of work done to the car prior to my purchase and it was all apart. I have looked over and under and haven't found a vin plate or a stamp on the frame or body. The 35 Ford coup I am just finishing has it stamped on the frame on the driver's side engine area and a plate on the body. Before I start stamping #'s myself, am I missing its location?????? Any clues will be appreciated.
i know on my 51 there is a vin plate on my firewall on the p***enger side. you could ask at shoeboxford.com too as im not sure where it is on the 50
Ditto, and Ditto. My buddy's '50 was a plate on the p***enger side firewall, red and silver if memory serves.

It is actually located in 3 different areas of the car. Right side fire wall, center cross member top, and also at rearspring hanger right side top at frame rail.
Thanks to all who responded. With the info on approximate location, I was able to clean off the areas and find a VIN, have the police inspect and get the ***le transfer late this afternoon.
