Thinking the worst I think something bad happend to my girl = ( well a few mins later call her father back and he tells me that thier youngest daughter ashley (whos 15 and just got her permit) was backing out the driveway and instead of putting on the brake she got scared and slammed on the gas. well then this happend! lol ill let the pics speak for themselves. Thank God nobody was hurt and it is just a car but im a lil sad inside.

I told the sis im not mad and it is just a car so its no big deal :D and im glad my g/f and everyone are ok! poor merc!

You're a much nicer guy than I am...I would have been livid. The first thing to go thought mind would have been "With the whitewalls, the car hitting one and the other scraping the curb that means two new tires, repainting the wheels, etc...if it was pushed too the curb, it was probably pushed -into- the curb so who knows what steering linkage or control arms are bent...and then theres the fender, and probably messed up hood, hinges, hood latch, whatever else...." until I looked it over and actually found what was really wrong. I'm always in the worst-case-scenario kind of mood.

Glad no one is hurt, and again you've got a hell of an attitude about it all!

Aw hell...just go to the Mecury dealer and order up a new fender...five minute job at best...now if it had paint on it...that would've been tuff to match...

Yup, that stings a little. It will take some of your time to straighten out the fender but she hit a tough car that is made out of real steel. That can be straightened out to where very little filler will be needed.

I hope her dad beats the freaking crap out of her with a belt. That's what would have happened to me if I hit a damn car. Girl or not there would be some serious punishment going on if my daughter did that. Hopefully she will at the least pay for anything that needs repairing/replacing if you can't fix it.

That what i figured too.... :)

She tapped it good but can you imagine if it was another kind of car??..It would have been f@cked!

Its kind of like that family dog, that gets kicked, its hair pulled and tolerates the abuse by the kids only to be there as loyal as ever to your family--Give that Merc a kiss and pat on the @ss...It done good and is still there for you!

I admire your outlook on this whole thing. I would have been livid and only made the situation worse.

  19. The kid is 15 & just got her permit. Sounds like she had her Mom with her when it happened. It isn't like she was sneaking out at 2AM to go drinking. Lighten up guys. We all make mistakes.

It's just a damned old car anyway... & yes, I'd say the same thing if it happened to mine.

Solo, I admire your attitude. On the positive side, the GF's family would probably forgive most anything you did for the next several months. Oh the possibilities that brings..... ;);)

hell i'd still call that a descent fender!! at least you didnt have all the body work and rust repair done yet!! some friends and i were out 4wheelin one night and my buddy was driving my bronco and we went over a blind hill climb and he got scared and stopped. before i could tell him it "wasnt to smart to stop right here" the wife came over the hill and hit us in her bronco!! dents are easy to fix bodies are not!

What was she driving? Did it do damage to whatever she was driving? It takes a good hit to dent a beefy old car like that. Atleast everyone is fine. I'm glad you aren't super pissed. I wouldn't be either. Accidents happen.

  27. Sam, I'm for discipline also but this appears to be a accident of innocent nature, now if she was in the garage doing a water burnout ...........
