There used to be a guy in San Antonio named Sid Bonilla ( Sid's custom interiors?) I know he was fighting cance but does anyone know if he's still around ? He was one of the best we had around Texas with the old Coupes and early 50's cars ! I had his number years ago but lost contact . Any help would be great and I am hoping he beat the cancer and I don't get the dredfull reply that he didn't make it . Thanks, Jerry
Anybody ? Still can't find him ? This guy used to do some of the most beautiful interiors you could lay your eyes on for the "old school" ( not plastic moulded ) interior look .His lines were perfect , the headliner bows were straight as an arrow , every thing he did was pretty much flawless and he was very reasonable for the quality you got back .
PM Slick Willie, he can probably hook you up directly or through the Gear Grinders. Oddly, I've been around the car scene for quite a while, heard the name 1.5 billion times, but never met the man. I know that I was told 15 years ago that he no longer did interiors, but could have sworn he did an interior for Mike Creesack (I know that's not spelled right). Good luck to ya, if ya can't find him track down Fat Luckys for an equeally phenomenal interior.
Thanks Crease ! He did a Chevy sedan that I painted about 5 years ago but my customer lost his number and said he was in pretty bad shape . I know he started doing only one car at a time when he got sick . Just hoping he pulled through because I think I have decided to go ahead and slick out my 35 since the old lacquer is too far gone with too many cracks . I originally just wanted to buff it out and leave it as original as I could but after looking at the beauties in here , I'm starting to be ashamed if somebody looks at my paint . But then again ,???? Like it really matters what others think huh ? LOL
Hello I am Sid Bonilla's granddaughter. I know this thread is old but I was looking for people who might know him or have hot rods that he worked on that I could get pics of. He p***ed away Sunday April 28, 2019.
I cannot help you with pics , but I wanted to offer my condolences to you and your family . I am sure others will be on here soon to help you.
Sorry for your loss I only knew of Sid by name I never did get to meet him. I have a friend whose 32 Sedan was done by Sid. I can go take pictures this Saturday PM your information and I will send you the pictures.
Im sorry for just seeing this us been a rough time but I would love to see pics and show my grandma. She misses him dearly.
Unfortunately you do not have enough posts here to be able to PM him, you need at least 10. You have left your E-Mail so if he has this thread "watched" he will get a notice. I will send BROWN DEVIL II a PM for you so he can get back here and get in touch with you. He has not been on here since November of 2020 so Do not get your hopes up. So sorry for your loss and I hope he does respond.
Sorry to her that Sid p***ed away, Back in the early 70's when I lived in McGregor Tx his work was in a lot of the show winning cars belonging to the members of the Street Rods of San Antonio and other car in the area.
