SEMA model legislation (H.B. 391) that would create a vehicle registration and titling classification for street rods and custom vehicles and provide for special license plates for these vehicles will be considered by the Ohio Infrastructure, Read TITLING CLASSIFICATION.... NOT AN ORGINAL TITLED VEHICLE....The bill allows kit cars and replica vehicles to be assigned a certificate of title bearing the same model year designation the body of the vehicle most closely resembles. IT WILL BE TITLED AS A 19?? STREET ROD OR CUSTOM WITH SPECIAL PLATES NOT AS A 19?? TRUE CAR.THIS IS A LOOP HOLE TO KEEP KIT CARS FROM COMPLIANCE TO THE EPA AND DOT CURRENT (2008)REQUIREMENTS.

For the record, I had to do a Colorado bonded title in 1999 on my Zipper Lakester. It's titled as a 2000 Homebuilt. Had I waited 'til the SEMA sponsored kit car bill passed in 2005 or 2006, I could have saved a lot of money and my sanity!

BTW, the performance aftermarket industry started in the late teens, early twenties with, to name a few, Roof OHV T-heads, Rajo, Winfield, etc. Sometimes I think Ryan needs to have an IQ test and you have to score at least a 100 to post here!

no that was just 1 example of why i dont care for repop bodies it has nothing to do with this legislation except for the part where they are allowed to title a car as a year in which it is not.

the entire hobby does not revolve around just that one car but other wise yes i feel if you want a car you should get the real deal. i dont know where you shop but pm me with a orignal 32 ford body that costs 40-60k. id like to see that

umm its been awhile sense highschool if you couldnt tell by my post lol

look guys all im saying is being say a kit car that was built in 2008 should not be given a loop hole to allow them to skip what a real car has gone thru. kit cars are no better then the real deal so why should they be treated as if they are and given a loop hole ? why shouldnt they have to wait ?
