We are also getting Sonics, one in Elk River, and one in Chanh***en I beleive.
Amazing how the old ideas are making a comeback in a small way.
Though we use to have 3 drive in resturants in Anoka Mn when I was growing up in the 60's

F Porky's...you know as well as I do it'll be nothing but muscle cars and tuners...you know, if all of us MN hot rodders would actually get together with each other and become a community, maybe those places wouldn't be overrun with ****py cars and ****py people...

  7. Jeez Johnny, don't be such a crab-***. You know how you can remedy the ****py cars and ****py people... STAY HOME!

I saw a huge sign for it off of broadway and lyndale, I don't think its open yet though, I'm sure it will be filled with '80s cars on giant rims, that seems to be the theme on that end of town

  10. What about the Porky's at the Northwest end of Lake Calhoun? Is it not there anymore? (I have not been there since 1977) Or did it die like I heard Lake Street crusing died?

It seems like there are more places coming than going. The news about Sonic coming to town is really cool, and waaaaaay down in my neck of the woods, Jimmy's CNC is moving to a former car dealership in "downtown" Belle Plaine this summer, and they've said there will be a weekly cruise night once it's up and running. I know I'll be there regularly, since it's right by my place.

Besides the new Porkys and the incoming Sonics, has anyone got news of other new cruise-friendly places opening up for summer of '08 (or beyond)?

It's cold here, but getting cooler all the time!

PS - Hiya ***us & Jenny! Miss you guys!

Muscle cars can piss off, but at least they're more tolerable than the rest of the newer **** at the drive-in places these days...

well maybe 2 different porkys means one for shiny cars with carpet & a heater & the other is for rust, flat paint, patina & sideburns. ---???

  19. You know, I agree with my Kropduster pal on this one. 20 years ago Musclecars still interested me but they do nothing for me as I get closer to 40 (wow, first time I typed that, the 40 part not the car:eek::D)

I am really digging the location of the new Porkys, that is my old stomping grounds and we have family 5 minutes away!

Long gone. I lived about a block from there in 1980 or so; it was closed when I moved in the neighborhood, then it became a pizza joint for a few years, then it was turned back into a Nora's Restaurant (named after Porky's wife) and it stayed that way for quite a few years. That finally closed and now it's some new trendy restaurant. That whole corner is pretty much entirely new, almost every building there is only a few years old.

  24. Yup, when Sonic opened here the line went around the block for two months, they actually had a side street shut down for the line. I need a burger from there. The corn dog was nothing special and the breakfasts are greasy. (sorry Terry:eek:)

2-Toned, you better watch what you say about us nostalgic boys with sideburns bro, and you can take that Chevelle and cram it...if I want to see a Chevelle I can stand outside for 10 minutes and see one...not all of us like rust and primer, and even fewer like 70's ****

Hey hey now, calm down boys, Mr Tommy two toned likes all types of cars and has em too.

I dont mind lookin at muscle cars ither, i own some of them also, just my heart rides with hot rods.

plus id rather look at muscle cars than rice burners, nor would i ever own one as daily transportation, its a sin against hot rodding i think.

    alright then.
ill be over to your house this afternoon to pick you up & you can take me to look at 1/2 dozen chevelles. only 6 (SIX) chevelles i want to just look at 6. -- you better start thinkin where 6 are to look at if they are alllllllllllllllllllllll over everywhere. im drivin man we're goin!

around here once in awhile someone will say "those chevelles are everywhere" i say 'reallllly' wow here let me go start my car lets go for a drive i wanna look at a few. where we going? then i watch him look up in the air blinkin his eyes real hard trying to think of where a couple would be sittin to look at. haahaaaaaa.

one chevelle ive had for 27 years. i love that car! i can nail the gas at 55 mph & w/out droppin a gear i can ignite the rear tires! my phone rings about once a month w/someone askin if its for sale, when i drive it & its parked somewhere there always seems to be a note left on it: is this car 4-sale? fooooooook nooooooo ill never have 3,000.00 in it, she aint for sale

BUT if i offered it to you for what i have in it youd be allllll over it & id see you backed in at porkys sittin in it smilllllllin ear to ear!:D:eek: & thats no **** man!!!

  29. ez there kids ........the weather is warming up ...
time now to go look for rusty tin sticking out o the sno before the trees start blooming again

if ya need drive in food ... :(. i pity the fool that thinks it will get better cuz its a new place...

so if tin ain't what you lookin for go scout some nice parking/cruisin destination for when the salt is well washed of the tarred roads... that we can meet or have a poker run...

like up near jalopy jims place ... happys corner (open?)..or bernings millside (now on a culdesac over lookin the crow river for submarine races ! they serve real ice cream and cold beer and burgers)in st. micheal too. i think they would be great poker run destiations..!!!

lets get the list together and do it!
cabin fever is affecting ya'll dammit...go sit in your car for awhile

i aint all wound up!!! i may go sit in my car anyway though cause its coooool!

chevelles are boring ***ed cars. i wouldnt dream of going to a chevy show! BORING like a line of 55-6-7 chevys i cant stand it. some muscle cars i like most i dont but i respect them.
i dont mind a few to look at. i dont have tunnel vision i like lots of different cars. -- they are either cooool or i think they ****!

i have a couple 55 chevs but i sure dont look forward to going to a tri 5 show unless its all nomads i could look at them all day.
