Now thats something to brag about !!! Would like to see a breakdown of U.S and then by states AND of Course a country count. Ya think somone might take notice if we all were to "Lobby" for or against something that threatens our interests.

  5. Out of that number, more than 18,000 have zero posts and another 12,000 have ten or less posts. There are really only about three thousand with over 100 posts. So, we're really just a bunch of lurkers.

That's probably a good thing. There needs to be less "who's Mike Ness, when will I not be a grenade inspector, show me 54 chevy pics, etc."...

Three thousand active is only 7.5% of the total registered. We are still a small group with lots of eyes on us.

Still those are pretty good numbers for a site with that many members.

Glad to be one of 40,000. Beats the shit out of one in a million! (My wife's guess of my chances of building a car she'll like - which is cute, because she thinks I care)

  13. if all 40K joined the alliance that would be 2 MILLION DOLLARS at 50 each. wow.

shit, let them look. Maybe someday they'll grow up enough to actually be able to contribute something here and if not, they'll just wish they could and maybe go away:rolleyes:

You ever look at your profile and see the number at the end of it?

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/member.php?u=160

That's your member number. Roots in this case. Doesn't mean he was the 160th ever to sign up but he is the 160th of the ones who are still around...

    Damn.

    I'm 727.

For grins, you can change that number to whatever, 1, 100, 40,000 and see who has it...

I think I'd go easy on the non-posters. I'm much more comfortable
with points and a generator than I am with a computer. I can't tell you
how many times i've tried to post pictures of my current projects
only to have them bounce back as too large. And to be honest, i don't
have the [pick one] time, patience, brains to sit down and decipher
the 1/2" owner's manual to the new digital camera. I'm learning slowly, but can't contribute as much as I'd like due to my own
ignorance. I'm addicted to the site however, and marvel at the depth
of the knowledge and talent among us. It's actually kept me focused
on finishing my 6 year Deuce 5W Hiboy project this year.

You guys who lurk and don't post are just as important to this hobby as anyone else.
Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.
Glad you're here! See you around on the road sometime!

that's cool...know a lot of folk who are just quiet and listen to learn, more than us big-mouthed know-it alls...it's just a personality thing. Learning here everyday and the wealth of help is astonding. The Hamb has come to my rescue more than once, saving me time, money and frustration. Not too many other things can compare.

  30. Just hold on guys,,,,,I wasn't refering to the ones that don't post,,,or the ones that rarely post,,,

I am talking about the ones that signed up on a whim and have never come back,,,,

Case in point,,,,, I ran across by this guy by accident,,,

hotrodphantom,,,,,,,he signed up on 9-13-2004 and that was the first and last time he was ever here.,,,HRP
