Thats a nice truck,i am doing a 35 at the moment but i'm keeping the bed and full height roof,i have a 9 inch channel (thats why i'm keeping the roof)and a 6 inch hidden zed at the front and 8 inch at the rear.It has a 36 truck grill(standard)all holes included i'm using a sbc motor until i can get the 392 hemi working ,8 inch rear axle and www tyres..............Marq..p.s it's great to see these nice trucks getting popular in the rodding department. this '35 extended 20 inches of body behind.(like a limousine??)
therefore,it doesn't have the space which puts a bed. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Misawa is far...as for the opportunity for me to see these, the car show which is hosted in the metropolitan area is most. [IMG]

  16. Lomino,

Misawa is northern part of the island. I think Mal lives near Mt. Fuji which is closest to Yokota AB, outside of Tokyo.. I have a friend in Tokyo that has promised me to keep me updated on shows in the area so I can get to one if one of my trips coincides.. If and when I get some info I would be glad to pass to your brother..

I have been to Misawa a few times in the past couple of years, will be going back there in fact later in the summer, I concur, not alot of action going on up there...

MAL - Is "Johnson Carnival" happening again this year ? Never been, but doesn't it take place somewhere north of Tokyo - maybe still a long way from Misawa but might be worth the trip ?

  18. MAL- That's a damn fine hotrod!
I have a '35 grille, that's kind of pushed in, and now I know what I'm going to do with it.

I'd be interested in knowing what tires those are, too.

    Fast Elvis,

it's glad but i am ordinary communicant on the web... [IMG]

    FrameDragger,

a big car show is held in the "Suzuka Circuit" on June 6th.you will be able to see the Kustoms which "Paradise Road" and "Border's" created.

    marq,

i, too, understand your feelings.the "PUMPKIN Sally" which is manufacturing this '35 is the truck specialty shop.however, the Japanese break historic one and like extreme one. [IMG] as the boss at this shop wanted to show off only his technology, i felt.but i likes this, idea.

    imfatdad,

thank you for being explained.i live in Gotenba City in Shizuoka,is a distance in 10 minutes to the Marine Corp Base Camp Fuji.then, this place is the neighborhood of "CUSTOM HILL".

    japchris,

"Johnson Carnival" will be again hosted in the autumn this year. [IMG]

I'm not sure but it sounds like you had your car / truck built... any links to the shop or the guy who built it...... I really like how he raked out the grill shell into a cowcatcher... and the channel / chop job...if the builder is from japan he's really got some good ideas... I'm still curious if you get to drive it on the streets??????????

Thanks for all the explaining. I have passed this thread on to my bro. He told me tokyo is about 7hrs from him but that if he could check out some kustom stuff it would be well worth the drive. If there is a base near he could even probably hop a flight.

Mal keep us in the loop with the happenings over there, might even get a wild hair and fly in to meet my bro up there.

You can see some photos from the guys that built this at www.Pumpkinsally.com - click on the "Factory" pumpkin -though no details of that pickup. No problem driving this sort of ride on the streets here as the Police take very little interest unless its been involved in an accident. The other night in Kobe my friend and I pulled up behind a police car at traffic lights. We were both in roadsters - both open headered, no fenders , no hoods, no seatbelts - They didn't bat an eyelid !
Lomino - the event your brother should go to is Custom Hill near Fuji in the autumn. It would be a long drive - 8 hours or so I guess, but people come from further than that to attend. Its the best event in Japan for trad stuff.
