We call them RUBBER SNUBBERS and they'd be an upgrade to the Texas Twine I cut off of it.:D

    HAHAHAHAHA!

Course, it weren't so funny when I was stuck in the parking lot of the California Highway Patrol. Good thing they all know me by name.:D

    I think that's a good thing?

I love driving my 55 when it's on the road. I took about 2" out of the front end and it still floats down the road. Mine's been updated in the drivetrain department because like others have said, those dynaflows need to be babied. They upgraded them in 56 if I remember right and they were quite an improvement over the 55 and earleir versions. My 57 Special rides like a dream too. Nothin like a driving a big *** Buick down the road IMHO :D Plus it's great watchin someone try to start one that doesn't know how!

    "Never had the bonnet problem."

Your roads probably aren't as bumpy and full of potholes like ours are :D

There are a couple of "dips" in the road around here, that I have to go over just right or my '55's hood pops up to the safety catch. Didn't know this was not an unusual problem.

Nah see, she stops fine........course she don't move fast enough to get out of her own way. :D

25mph and she'll POP her hood to the safety catch. Then you get out, ghost ride the whip, curse and make funny faces and close it back down.

Then repeat the above 10 foot down the road.:D

  7. I had a 55 super riviera that had the same problem with the hood popping open going down the road, lucky for me the safety latch would catch. Bought a new/used latch and problem was solved. I loved that car, wish I had never sold it. I got me a 55 roadmaster now that is need of lots of work. Attached is a link to my photobucket with various 55 buick pictures I have found on the net...it's a pain in the *** to find good picture of them. The rusted out looking one is my roadmaster and the one with the two tone primer green/ gray with the wide white wall/porta whites is the one I sold...still kicking myself in the *** for that. Those nailheads are awesome motors.
