my son bill ,aka t/acoupe, is a machinist in the navy out of norfolk and found this for sale in nags head nc area, struck a deal and we went this weekend and picked up and brought home to balto md.
150" w/b old moon tank and halibrand mags. only history we know is it was raced in new england area about 1970, might have been candy blue/purple then, and was cert in 2001 with rear hoop rebuilt.
will try to find more info on history if poss, does anyone have history of conn area dragstrip, now closed, car was supposed to run there in 1970?...........................thanks:cool:

Cool! I like it! Thought I was losing it until somebody said something about the plastic engine. I'm sitting at work thinking "That sure is pretty, but something don't look right....................."

Damn right, I'd stick that motor in the front window of my house next to my leg lamp from "A Christmas Story".

Pyayr motor or something like that. I've got one of their 392's, as well. That's a 426 hemi, which I'd be interested in as well if the other gentleman doesn't want it.

About 1965. Welcome to the dragster club. There is a secrete hand shake and p*** word. I will fill you in. That is a cool lookin car, with one exception..... the cage. PLEASE cut that cage off and re do it. Just constructive criticism. What kind of small chevy you gonna build for it?

Wow, thats a great find. I've been beating the bushes for a while now, lookin' for a 175 in. car. Problem is, I require a 22 in. hoop and 39 in. tall cage. (yep, I'm fully grown) I guess I'll just have to build one as none of the pro ch***is shops I've talked to want to mess with it. Congratulations, how long 'till "wheels up"? Paul

  27. I Emailed you some info from Kellison's catalog.

tanks for all the great info and the kellison stuff, when bill finishes his navy stint end of this year he'll prep the car and go racing in 2009 at capitol raceway in crofton maryland, "dragster capitol"
capitol opened in 1960 and is where the christmas tree was invented and i believe the first to use a scoreboard at tracks end. and of course jalopy drags in beaver springs and maybe someother vintage events.
i'm picking up a 1950 stude champ 2dr sedan on saturday, pretty nice, sitting last 14 yrs, still owned by original family that bought new, gonna be my everyday ride to replace my too new car, 1978 lemans. the more i look to the past the brighter the future gets.
thanks again for all the help, info and interest, hope i can return the favor...............will post stude pics on saturday:cool:
