Looking for parts sources for two areas of my '40 sedan

    1. The RH inner fender has a bulge in it to clear the battery tray in its original location (battery's in the trunk now). I could gain some turning radius if that was 'flat' like the LH side. Wondering if a '39 deluxe or a pickup inner fender would fit the bill? I know I've seen cars of this era with the battery up on the firewall - can't remember which ones, though.

    2. 'Round back where the bumper bracket p***es through the body. On the coupe it's part of the tail pan. On the sedan it's between the tail pan and fender. Does anyone make a patch panel for that area?

Try Mac's or carpenter or spadaro they all have sheet metal panels. The attached is from Mac's

"*****ing Products" and "Direct Sheetmetal" both make patch and replacement panels

The one 4tford shows is for the coupes - the sedan is different. I know Mac's doesn't have it, but I'll check the other sources. Thanks for the tips.

BTW, here's the area we're talking about
