I just got back from a nice cruise in my 54, it's been over at my parents house for a few month's just sitting there, collecting dust. Well my bro is buy there house and they need room to store some stuff, so not only did I get kicked out of my own garage, so the princess, and provider of the nookie could park her new Jeep on one side, and my club's project (Falcon G***er, seen at www.scroungers.net) takes up the other half. But I get kicked out my folk's garage too. I guess me and rosie palm and her 5 sister's will just have to tuff it out for a while till I find another resting spot for her for the rest of winter. But anyway while I was driving it I was looking at everyone around and the **** they were driving and know (at least in my own head) that they are not having near as much fun as I am driving mine. Even if it wonders all over the road when it catches a groove because of the bias ply's and worn out front suspension, or the smell of exhaust fumes whafting in thru the m/c hole in the floor, because I can't seem to remeber where I put the plug, or the fact that the it bottom's out on every pot hole because i gota look cool cruising with no air in the shock's to get the *** end down where I think it need's to be.Maybe its just me but I just love driving my 54,no radio great heat and all the fumes a man could ask for, I love it!(Or maybe I just need some fresh air)..So I ask what makes you love your car, and it's quirk's???
That 54 is nice. Mine WAS that color originally but was repainted a ****ty 70s metallic green............
that is one beautiful car, you captured the look just perfect with the color, wheels and tires...I wouldn't change a thing......Very nicely done....
just like my '53 my ride is nothing special. 4dr '53 Chevy, black w/ red rims and wide whites. It's an over-done color combo. Rebuilt 6cyl 235 w/ 3 on the tree, bored 30 over but thats it. It's runs silent with a big ol' muffler, so I don't even make some good noise. No radio, no AC, no seat belts and the headliner is old and worn out. But it still beats the **** out of driving a Honda or Toyota to work any day of the week
I have all the same options as well, oh yhea and the fact that it has way more style than any of my vehicles that I make a payment on is another reason why I love it... thank's guys for the kind word's she's a real nice 20'ter....
Thank's it's been re-painted only once in that was in the late 70's it's showing it's age but I really dig it, it has just enough road rash that I don't worry to much about it, wash it, dry it, drive it, wax is for surf boards!
that grille treatment without the teeth (i can't believe im gonna say this) looks just as good as it does with the teeth!!!!
Looks good without the teeth but 9 would be better! If it weren't going to be 9 degrees this weekend, I'd think about firing up my rust duster 54!
I has kromets (chrome bullet's)in the holes, I have the teeth but they are in sad shape worse that the rest of the chrome thats for sure...
Nice looking jigger for sure!. How low in front and rear? Bias ply's chasing grooves keep you on your toes, especially on tram (trolley) tracks!
i agree with everything you said about what you love about your car cause i feel the same about my truck and i personally think all the imperfections and dents and scratches and all that **** just add character just like it would on a person, and i happen to like the primer spots i have aswell **** all the new plastic **** driving around and besides who really cares about mpg? i know i dont 72 chevy c-10 and proud
Im loving the look of the grille bar without the teeth. I have never seen a 54 with out the teeth before. Looks like a great ride.
Not many trolley tracks left around here, most have been covered over, but It's 2 1/2 coils cut in front and 3" blocks in the rear....
she's sitting in the garage, covered in dust with a dead battery, I need to show her some love..My 23 T modified project is taken most of my time. I'll have the 54 out soon enough..Ryan
