Just got thru watching the 6:00 news, NSRA has signed a contract to keep the Street Rod nats in Louisville thru 2020. I live close by and was just wondering what the HAMB community thinks about the Louisville venue.

I think it was better when it moved around. I think it ****s that OKC only cares about horse shows.

I don't like the heat and I don't like the acres of asphalt. Sure there are air conditioned buildings, but I want to look at cars, not rows of tables full of billet trinkets. Columbus and St Paul are much better venues because of the shade and the cruisin'. Thankfully there are other NSRA and Goodguys events 'cuz I won't be going to the nats until 2021.

August temps and lack of shade are a real drag. Why not at least plant some trees?

Louisville is alright venue but the temps plus the asphalt paving don't make for good viewing weather. If they are going to keep it there for that much longer then should think about moving the date or something.

HEY!!! I was prolly standing right next to whoever took this pic.

and a great day it was, too. that's the day i met sherry. we got married 3 years ago.

but, to answer the first post: i went to the nats annually for a long time, but when they announced that they were returning to the same venue (l'ville) the next year i quit going. if they ever have it somewhere else i might go again, but prolly not. i got really tired of being crowded and hot. same reason i quit going to the frog follies. i'd rather invite a dozen hot rodder or biker friends over and have a private show/bbq in the back yard or meet up to cruise somewhere for the day.

  10. So when's that going down, Mike? I need to put it on my calendar:D
    mmmmMMMMmmmm bbq........

I'm in Mike!.........If you've never been to the Nats, GO... at least once in your life. You won't regret it. Yeah, there's a bunch of Billetmobiles, but there's some really cool stuff to see there also. The last time I went it was in OK City in '89? Last year I drove the coupe to L'ville and won a Pros Pic. :) I might go back...

I agree . Gotta go to Nats at least once. Back to the 50's is better. Much nicer grounds and lots of shade. Back when we used to go every year, part of the excitement was the announcement of next year's location.

It was so hot at the nats this year that most folks spent the days inside and 3/4 of the cars did not even show up Sunday. It may be my last nats too.

10,000 cars just 4 hours from me...... that's too tempting to p*** up.

It has it's issues but I can find enough there to like to make it worth the trip.

I'm getting to where I go to see people rather than cars anyway.

damn.. I was there too.. luckily my father parked on higher ground..

Louisville is Ok, but its likely I will not go again until 2020..

"the nats" were alot better when it moved around..

ST PAUL (back to the 50's) is something everyone should do once, alot like going to the nats, but more laid back..

I was there in my new 28 delivery. Had been parking in that area, but stayed at the motel late that morning. Didn't really want to get it out and all messed up. Was kinda upset that we had to park over by the farris wheel. Set there in the rain, looked over and a 36 ford had water up to the bumpers. Alot worse over on the other side.
