What a laugh! I am not going to drop a bunch of names but there is plenty of noteworthy talent on Jockey Journal. It is pretty much EXACTLY like the HAMB, but for traditional choppers, bobbers, and cafe racers. Posting an automatic easter egg-color street rod here gets you the same reaction as posting a clone-motor phat-tired billet barge over there.

I am (still) working on my first real chopper, with lots of handmade parts, and I have gotten nothing but positive responses, even though I am doing some goofy **** like setting up a suicide clutch/jockey shift on a 64 Triumph. I needed dimensions for rear engine mount and someone mailed me a template. People don't give you **** for trying to low-buck it, because usually that means you are doing it yourself. Maybe if you go in there with a chip on your shoulder you'll get knocked down, but isn't that just like the HAMB?

You sure got that all wrong.

But then again, if you've got thin skin your best to not go in.

The Jockey is young still and solid friendships have been formed in there. Just like in real life, you get tested by people.

I've met alot of good people on the Jockey. I've done alot of business over there as well and have had nothing but good experiences. And on top of that, I only have like 50 or so posts and haven't gotten my **** ripped to threads yet.

I lurk on the JJ everyday. I want to do an intro but all I have is a ****ty old BMW that is pretty stock except bars and pipes. Actually I just need to get off my lazy *** and take some pics. I like how small it is and I like the way that the intro's are on the main board. There are at least 40 extremely talented guys over there that contribute all the time.

I was on there for a while with my bike and never had any problems with the members.. I liked the site alot but with selling my bike and now having a 50 Shoebox, the HAMB is where I go now.

Couldn't agree more...great site, great people.
If you bring respect and honesty, then you will benefit greatly from the broad knowledge base it offers....

    God damn that was funny.

  17. I post pictures of stuff I am building for my Triumph... kinda tech, I'm showing people how I do stuff.

Come to think of it, I'm nicer to people over there than I am on this site... probably because I'm just farting along having a good time, and I don't live it, eat it, breath it when it comes to bikes.

Cars I take a little more personal.

    Maybe I need to relax.

Anyway... here's something you might catch over there once in a while.

    Sam.

    "Thin skinned"

You mean when I offer a comment not consistent with some complete ******** posted by a favored "expert", and receive by way of response: not a re****al, not a different opinion, not facts that were not posted previously - but simply personal insults, and do not ignore them?

If only there were some way to limit internet access to IQs above 90...

I hear my bobber to much. But other than that good site alot of info.

  20. Part of the internet is also knowing how to get you point across amid a stream of jibberish, half truths and old wives tales. Yes, EVERY site has info posted that isn't completely right, sometimes it is just different from your perspective but still true.

I think a good place to start is not to randomly delete your posts and carry an air of snootiness around...
