Howdy all. Been lurking a while and want to introduce myself. I,m Bill Batson from Wilton Center (central) Illinois. I'm 56 and been turnin wrenches since 14 (1961) and still learnin. I like all things with an engine - airplanes, cycles, but prefer the big three US brands autos. Love all old stuff whether original, hot rodded, or modified/custom. Have several low dollar cars and projects. Presently working on an flathead AV8 with a Brookville body. Drivin a 51 flathead mainly original but with straight pipes and some small engine changes and a stock 29 Model A special coupe. Projects in waiting are a '30 Model A pickup which will have a 52 flathead/c4 and a super rust free 41 Plymouth business coupe which will probably be 350/350. Sure enjoyed my lurkin - now I want to participate. You guys&gals are great and sure have allot to share thanks for the past and lets play in the future. Bill
I think 56 is quite young. Good to have another flathead type around. Anyone tell you we really like to look at pictures? Welcome
Yeah, welcome Billy.....although 56 is quite an extended age ..............I'll be 57 next april. .....and what's this "low dollar" bs? A Brookville body is not a low-dollar proposition unless you got a clapped out used one somewhere. I think you'll like it here.
Hey - thanks to everybody for the warm welcome. Mike , your showing your age with that Shazam. And Rocky, your absolutely right the Brookville body isn't low budget - I had ta sell my motorcycle to get it ....sigh. I will say the Brookville quality is superb. Thanks again guys.
Welcome to the HAMB. Looks like my Dad, Rocky's Dad and your Dad all had the same idea the same year. But I gotta pull a little seniority on Rocky, I was born in January.
Wow, another OLD FART like me,,,,WELL, you found where the FUN resides and the BULLSHIT rules....oh, ah...Welcome too. Glenn
