Hey guys, I'm looking for some ideas and opinions for scallops on my Galaxie. About a month from now, Hiboy32, and I, will be flaking/scalloping the roof and laying out some scallops on the sides, hood and trunk lid. We are thinking about a dark red/burgundy color for the flake on the roof and possibly a champagne color (see interior pics) for the scallops and a 1" or 1-1/2" border around the roof. We've also discussed using pearl white (or a pearl "antique" white) for the scallops. My goal is to use colors that match and/or compliment the interior colors. The car has the original interior that is still in good condition, especially considering it's age. Also, I'm planning on changing the wheels to OE chrome wheels (probably with spider caps) with the same WWW tires. The side trim is painted red right now and we will most likely be painting it to match the scallops. The paint on the roof will most likely be permanent, but the rest of the body will eventually get painted. Having said that, I'm thinking about keeping the scallops mild, fairly narrow, and not out-of-control overboard. Maybe you guys will have better ideas than myself that I will like. If anyone would be willing to photoshop their ideas, I'd greatly appreciate it. The sides of the car are what I want to concentrate on, since the hood, roof, and trunk lid will be pretty straight forward. I will be searching for pics of scallop layouts that I like and add them to this thread as I find them. I want to thank everyone, in advance, that is willing to do a Photoshop rendering or offer up ideas. Please feel free to post pics of other scalloped cars for ideas. Thanks! Malcolm
Thanks! It's been this way for two years now and I've talked scallops for almost that whole time. I've had some taped off a couple times, but just couldn't bring myself to actually spray them. Maybe it's a commitment issue?! ...so, now is the time! Malcolm
Definitely quiet mode. I like your first image idea. Nothing's more beautiful than scallops that whisper.
Yeah, Jess, the more I think about it, the more subdued the scallops will be. I also really like the layout on the Pontiac... Thanks, Malcolm
who can photoshop?? Lets get some lines going. Thank god pastels arent IN anymore. Rusty, you should get to check out our fresh new look on the Galaxie in April. later. Jeff

Well, here's a shot of what we ended up doing. Silver flake with candy red over it and scallops taped out. Left the rest of the body in primer. You should see it in the sun!
