Sometimes lace looks nice, like on a '60s custom, but it doesn't look right on that car. It just breaks up the nice curves and lines of the body. I'd paint that car dark candy burgundy or something. Too cool of a body style to mess up with lace. Lace is better off on the big boring flat areas on the tops of '60s cars to dress them up. Those beautiful curves on that car would really make a deep dark candy paintjob stand out in the crowd. It would have a cool glow to it. I can just picture it in the dark cruising under the street lights in a deep dark burgundy or cranberry candy!
you know that is exactly the color i was thinking.my buddy has a HOK Root Beer pearl with very small gold flakes in it...or he also has a very dark HOK burgundy over gold flake..
Lace is on it's way out, or has been overdone lately, your car is awesome, don't turn it into some flamboyant abortion.
LACE IS COOL.......... .... IF YOUR BUILDING A 70'S STYLE LOWRIDER,.,,,, in my opinion...its the NEW red wheels...
for this week,.,,hahha++ not directed at Squigy as he is my bro..and i know he was just fucking around,,,,,but its funny to watch the hamb sometimes with how these 'trends' have their movement,... in no particular order...'bobbers, gassers, longroofs, streetfreaks, bellflower customs, metalflake, astros, flake, spidercaps' ..it is amusing at times...
Perfect this is the what i wanna hear... i really dont wanna drive around a fuckin clown car.....Thanks guys bring it on,more more... SamF. you forgot "Top Chops"and "Rat Rods"...
it's like fenderless late 30's car, they just don't look right. plus I think the lace fad will be out soon!
'rat rods' are what brought most everybody here, ....not the way we think of the stupid word now,.... ....,but rather what it meant like 10 years ago,,so i didnt include that...chop tops?! hell yeah,,in my opinion chop tops are like big & lil's, V8's and doin a burn out ,,just a given.... btw! chop that fucker!

you're high!@ and just to prove it i'm gonna lace the roof on my house and flake the walls. HAHAHAHA! seriously though folks... squigs... dump the lace, paint that gorgeous hunk of metal about 3 miles deep in black and drop it off at my place this weekend, i'll have a 78 lincoln ready for you to drive home.
Ed? What are you doing??? We need to have a serious talk, buddy... I am really concerned for your well being and the state of your mind at this present time. You are a good friend and club-mate, please get rid of the floral print. What's next, an oversized moo-moo and a pair of pink fuzzy slippers? Your loving friend, Rob
Next time don't go through all that effort use photo shop and you can get rid of it with a button not a sander.
I love lace jobs, but personally, I don't like it on that car. It kind of makes it look like it's wearing a clown wig. It looks especially funny with a faded primer body. A flattened metallic might be OK, but I still think a complicated pattern on the roof of a 36 looks odd
