Treat them with respect and keep them well maintained and I am told they last a lifetime. [IMG]

A rule for happy married life: Any activity involving the kitchen and car parts MUST be undertaken while wife is out. Heating parts to harden paint, use of dishwasher as hot tank, even rinsing in the sink. If noxious odors remain, accidentally melt a disposable container on the stove or spray lots of disinfectant and swear the dog threw up on the rug to cover the telltale aroma of scorched grease. Occasionally actually fix some damn thing around the house to justify your giving 20% of family income to the Snapon man.

I heard that all the Good Wives were actually recalled by the Factory,
due to some alledged design flaw.

Only a few examples of the original specification are known to still exist.
Obviously, savy collectors keep theirs on a short leash.
Current models are made to the newer specification, and performance has suffered.

Mine bought me a very rusty 27 T coupe body, remains of a 27 touring and an extra 27 touring/roadster cowl, all very rusty, for my birthday. She says they are a good investment. Shes a keeper. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Mine has been putting up with me for 40 years this July. Wouldn't part with her for anything. It's funny but I think she feels the same way about me. I'm ONE lucky guy.

She doesn't like that pic too well, but it's ok to me.

Here's a pic of the gal who took the pic and the 28 roadster you see reflected in the side of my 32.

Pics taken near Mugu Rock on Pacific Coast Highway July 7, 2001. Headed for Neptunes Net Seafood joint.
Local Harley, beach rat, sporty car and hot rod hangout. I think they even let Dr. J in there now and then.... [IMG]

I believe I did great on my second choice. All my car guys bitch that their women don't understand the old car thing.

Hell, mine went out and bought this...

On her own, with her own money, while I was out of town.

Sure, I do the wrenching on it but hell, that's a thing I "get to do". I enjoy it.

Imagine my relief, her dream car was a 68 Camaro until she saw a 59 at a car show.

"Assuming the position" at StrayKat 500 03...

She's even getting into the HAMB, when I'm out of town.

So, if you guys see a post from VIXXXEN, it's her.

    Another note...

They HATE when you ArmorAll them! [IMG]

Amen to the comment about a good woman being the best thing a gearhead could have.

I'd probably have just offed myself a long time ago without mine. She's the best. When I first took a test drive in my '51 F-1, I was starting to think "This thing's more work than I want to get myself into."

Then I looked over at her riding shotgun and she had the biggest grin I've ever seen on her.

Bought the truck, never regretted it. Still have the wife. Haven't regretted that either.

  28. Mine is pretty good at operating an engine hoist while I'm underneath, lining up the engine mounts.

She also pushes the brake pedal while I'm bleeding the cylinders.

My wife doesn't give a shit about my car and that works out too. At least at any given time, she doesn't have to look farther than the garge to find me.
