if you are ever in doubt, look at the vacuum advance. 99% of the time, the rotor spins opposite the direction it points, or clockwise on chevys

Many cams for early small block chevys can be purchased with 4 and 7 switched in firing order,there is a minor power increase. The LS style late model motors in trucks , corvette, and F bodys don't share the old firing order
