As far as I know of..nobody sells them. Trim Tags inc will make trim tags but NOT VIN tags. This is a very touchy area when you go messing with VIN tags and numbers. You can suffer the wrath of the law if caught.

Your local trophy shop can laser engrave stuff like that too. Looks very good.

I've tried the press-n-peel (PNP) method of laser printing, and then ironing the PNP to the br***, and then chucking it into some Ferric Chloride for about an hour.

It takes forever to get a good quality transfer of PNP to the br***. I just did about 3 tries and still haven't got the PNP to stick correctly.

I also tried putting photo sensitizer on the br***, and exposing it to a positive image, and after about 2 try's I got tired of that.

So tomorrow I'm going to use a silk screen. Put the photo emulsion on the screen, expose it, wash out the expsed areas, and then silk screen the br*** with ink, and throw it in the Ferric Chloride for an hour.

Here's the best I made so far:

The only advantage of etching, is it gives it a neat 3-D look. For instance I just sprayed it with a can of flat black, let it dry, and then sanded so just the high br*** came through.

Maybe I'll have something for next months tech week...
