Thinking about a possible move from Montana to Yakima WA. What is the area like? Best place to live? Dragstrip? Car activities? Good place to be? I'm dreading the move if I do have to go because of the 10 cars I have and where would I put them. Plus the mountain of stuff I have managed to gather in my 61 years of being on earth and loving cars. Any info would help.

They have a big meet there every year so there's a lot of hot rodders. I hung out there a couple weeks with friends at the local teacher's college town so the people are aging hippies and some who came out with the guru with all the Rolls. I liked the area.

Thats funny..., I might be moving to Montana in the next two weeks! (Livingston Area!!!)

That way you don't have to move all your junk cars..., just leave them for me!!! [IMG]

Yakima is hot!! I spend a week there every summer for the vintiques show. It's kind of a desert. There is a dragstrip, renegade raceway, and a very active rod club, the vintiques. Check out their site at www.vintiques.com. I'm sure some of the club members would be better able to answer your questions about the area. Their show every summer is a must for our group and they are a good group of people.

  9. I was born and raised about 50-75 miles south. Across the river on the Oregon side. Lots of agriculture, hot summers with little rain and high fire danger. Winters aren't too bad...will get to zero once or twice a winter with minimal snow. I like it!

  10. I'm in Ellensburg. Like Shiva69 said, the winds a bitch here. Not as bad in Yakima. Lots of car activity around here.
