Talked to my aunt the other day, she said she was glad that my uncle got that car stuff out of his system when he was younger. Now he golfs and moes his gr*** when the neighbors do need it or not.
Sorry to hear about the p***ing of your Uncle. I have had lots of family and a couple of friends stop living long before they died, and it is always sad.
My guess the reason he "got it out of his system" was your aunt. It is sad that he didn't find another hobby that was fullfilling to take the place of that "car stuff" I see it all too often in the farming comunnity, when an old farmer 'retires" and has the sale, they go set in front of the TV and die. You have to have something to get up for every morning. Guess I'm OK, got more to do than I can get done in two lifetimes. lol
As long as he's happy I suppose thats what counts. I would think golfing and hotrodding would be the same cost to maintain hobby wise. Well well...A 49 year old from Navarre. I grew up in Navarre.
He had some nice stuff 57 chevy,63 impala, Thunderbird retractable hard top, Some 50s panel trucks for work then on to 60s trucks. Last decent car was a 66 fairlane. That was said while in my garage looking around.
Golf?....really? ...Golf? If you want to run in a field and play with your balls then go for it but there are cheaper ways to do that and you can still have your car!
OK how's this mows, I just started this computer thing in the last 6 months or so. Pecking along the best I can, trust me this surprises every one.
Wimmins cause all kinda problems, but most times standing up to your principles will get you respect from them, unless they look like Carmen Electra, in which case they have you by your **** hairs and they will take everything from you, including your dignity and your pet dog. Tell yer uncle I feel bad for him.
if golf and mowing is all he has to look forward to might as well be dead.. congratz on the newlyweds...
just trying to make light of a grave situation your aunt apparently wants to manipulate you to with her p***ive aggressive statement why else would she choose those words? she could have said that she was happy that he was able to have fun with cars in his youth, and that now he enjoys golf. instead she infers that this is something that he grew out of and that you should too.
No they all know better than that, all I ever heard was your just like your dad is, and I thank them for that.
Cheer up, Skippy- You've already mastered the "retarded thread" part of the learning curve. Congratulations!
Go over and get your Uncle, tell your Aunt you're taking him golfing, then go to your house and let him wrench on your stuff. I'm thinking it's not really all out of his system.....
Your uncle should come on here and tell us what it's like to "get it out of his system". He might share some warning signs that we all can avoid. I know at 63 the only thing "out of my system" is golf. Never played the game but worked on a golf course for 2 summers during high school. That was enough for me. I understand there is this Tiger Woods character who seems to enjoy the game. Go figure. Frank
My dad gave up lots of things cause of my mom,and spent the last years of his life in front of the TV,then took care of her day and night til he died..and she still *****ed at him about **** he "did" 40 years ago...Always felt sorry as hell for him, sharp as a tack til he died at age 86...been thinking about him a lot lately, his 99th birthday would have been today.. Seeing his spirit broken is ONE of the reasons I'm divorced now..No woman is keeping my balls in a jar..
All I ever really needed to learn about golf I learned from Robin. http://www.videosift.com/video/Robin-Williams-on-Golf-Language-****
Well, you know having yer balls in a jar sounds like a good vacation from having 'em in a bench vise.
