The funny thing is ... in a few years or so, we all will be saying " I should have bought one of those ... when they were that cheap." :D

I know I p***ed over a couple of 32 3W coupes for 10 to 15 grand years ago. The problem was when they were 10 grand ... I only had 5 grand. When they were 15 grand ... I might have gotten 10 grand together ...

Same now ... no way I could pay 100 grand for one 3W coupe with no engine, transmission and stuff missing.

But I would love to own either of them. :)

    Yep.

My dad and a buddy went to California 12 years ago (1995) and bought a perfect 3 window body for $7500. Everyone thought they were nuts. His buddy still owns the body, hasn't touched it.

THEY ARE BETTER THAN MONEY IN THE BANK.

Is the rate of Deuce inflation going to keep going up like this or will it level off someday? Maybe when all of us geezers have to let go when they throw dirt on us?

Wow! I'm glad to see the price of original iron go that high. At BJ, when a 1-800 car goes up to that price, its sort of .... well like squeezing silicone implants, nice but not real.

Great looking cars but at that price I couldn't drive it daily or in the snow ,rain or go foord shopping with it:D. I'll take one with some patina , them beauties belong in a collection away from harm and chopping:eek:

For all you know, 100 grand may be a steal for a 3W deuce in 10 years from now :D

On the other hand, it may be that the street rodders will all be pushing 70 or more and the new crowd doesn't get the "Deuce". Certainly the market for antique cars seems to be level-a nice original A being about what it was 10 years ago. There will always be a market for really nice, unique cars-but maybe not a '32. It's been 45 years since "Little Deuce Coupe" got us all going.

Model A owners can only dream of this.. Sorry. But the deuce will always be the "King" of hot rods.. The more the younger generations explore the past... the more they will figure that fact out. When you look at all those old pictures on the salt and drags.. DEUCES are what you see the big dogs runnin.
Fu@kin BEACH BOYS didn't have anything to do with it.. Although they did make me wanna own a 409:D

All early iron will continue to go up..

What so special about 3 windows anyways?

I am still waiting for all the extra parts to start showing up on ebay. I wonder if the guy had a pines winterfront? I would seem like something he would have.

Sure could use the ash try and rear window curtain hardware.

What does the factory visor look like?

My wife worries about "what will it be worth" when all of us geezers have to let them go. She has heard the stories of the old boys that collected "T's" and "A's" and how their value declined as each generation p***ed on. I agree that the Deuce will be valued as long as "Hot Rods" in their purest form are important to the future generations. As for me, I don't care because I'll hang on to mine as long as I can afford to eat. When the day comes and I have sell, there will be nothing better than seeing the excitement and joy these cars will bring to a new owner, or someone like corngrower32 that uncovered these beauties.

Wade Hughes, A prominant hot rodder here in Cincinnati with a **** TON of early metal and parts, has said Openly and often... (I've heard him say this myself numerous times)

"When I die the Obituary will say only SIX words... WADE HUGHES DIED, ..SEE AUCTION SECTION!"

    That about sums it up.:D

There were two design sun visors. The first design had some legs that moved the visors down so they could fold up better. The arms were at the ends of the visors. The second design was just a wire frame with cardboard inside. They used the 33-34 style hardware that is avail repo.
You can tell which style is used on the header from the mounting holes. Straight fore and aft is later and angled is early.
I think "we are only 32" sells the ash trays.

As fascinating as the "find" is, I'm as interested in knowing why the running 32 was parked?
I'd like to know why Jaybird decided to park a running Deuce 3/w rod in 74 and it sat for 30 years w/o him driving it, tearing it down for a rebuild or selling it.
We've all seen Rods taken off the road, blown apart for a rebuild and eternally stalled for various reasons, but this one wasn't blown apart. (You were able to get it running with a bit of work).

Obviously it may have been his idea of a 401 k for him and the Wife.

Maybe he was waiting to retire, then do a rebuild?

Did the car start to get fussy and he just got pissed/tired of it and parked it in 74?

Not all that unusual, I know of two Deuce three windows within a 50 miles of me that haven't moved in 30 years or more. One was bought from the World of Wheels in Omaha in the 60's and has been sitting in his garage ever since. He has no urge to do anything with it except have it. He watches Barrett-Jackson so he has an inflated value of what its worth but that's OK. I've offered him help to get it out from the mountain of stuff he has piled on it and recommended he get it going again for fun but to no avail. It's fair to say he is eccentric and very thrifty. It's time for a visit to offer again. The other one is a roller that has never run and that guy is even more "unusual" that the first guy. My good friend checks in with him now and then and he has no intention of doing anything with it but he also thinks it's worth a ton. My brother's '57 Corvette that was sold to a guy in 1972 (I could have bought it for $1200 but I was just drafted into the Army) who still has it and it hasn't run since 1974 when he blew it up. He doesn't really have time or any intention of doing anything with it. The last time I talked to him he said he would just regret it if he sold it so he keeps it along with '55 Belair hardtop he has. It's time to stop by and see him again too. I could be accused of the same thing. My 3W has been undriven sitting for 7 years and needs a redo to make it safe to drive again, but I do plan on doing it as soon as I get the other two or three projects ahead of it done. Time just p***es by so fast, priorities change and life always seems to get in the way
