:( I just went through the worst ordeal of my life buying a car on the Hamb. It was posted, I made all the proper inquiries, got photos, got title copy, three weeks of working out all the details and was told that I owned the car, even in writing on my emails. My money was sent out to have a friend pick this up tomorrow because he was nervous about a bank wire or cashiers check. My friend already paid and arranged for a roll back and took time off work. I even have the trucking company on the way to pick this up. The seller called just tonight to tell me he changed his mind. He found storage for the car. My heart is broken. Yes, I'm a woman and I have bought enough cars to know this isn't right. What are my recourses. Stu

Yeah, that sucks... I think I'll pm chopstix and tell him how much so.

Thanks, I need all the help I can get. I'm bummed. I have been into cars for a while as a hobby, ventured into enjoying them as my dad did, but have put my trust in chopstix here and looks like I am going to suffer for it. Nobody's ever done this to me before. This isn't cool!

My friend is still waiting this morning to hand him the cash per our arrangement. I hope he chooses not to renege.

Whew! Any more stress about this car and I was going to go off to the funny farm. My friend was able to pick up the car and take care of all the paper work. Chopstix reluctantly resigned and let my friend pick up the car. He is actually a nice guy and sincere, but just a little confused as to how all this works and gratefully he realized he needed to follow through. So thank you Chopstix, and thanks very much to the Hamb for all the help. This one will go down in the books!

    Breathing again, Stu:rolleyes:

yes, chopstix is a VERY good person.

he is a good freind of mine and you should realise the tin you bought had sentimental value and is the reason why he decided not to sell.... money sometimes drives us to do things we'd rather not do, it is OK to have a change of heart.

i dont think the hamb had anything to do with the deal getting completed, it was actually your promise of a lawsuit that pushed it through.

I talked to him and he seems like a really good guy. I can totally understand the sentimental thing, but in the end - your word is your word. I think he did the right thing.

    In any case, case closed.
