I am looking at a used 84" tool box. I was told it is a $10,000 box. Any truth to that???

    Thanks

seems pretty high for a Cornwell...
but they're like cars- Year, Make and Model and I might be able to help. I'm not a cornwell dealer, but a close buddy of mine is.

That is a pretty big box.I would take it that its a three bay bank.Does it have a top also?I dont know if its worth 10g's but I bet its worth a few.Do you have a model #.Do you have pics?

Model and pics would help.I might be able to cross it in my files.

I am a dealer but not through Cornwell.

I am working out a deal to trade him my old snap on tool box and give him $2500.

I am really curious to see how much they retail for new? I think it is fairly new and looks very similar to this one.

$10.000 for a Corn ball? ya gotta be kiddin? I have got the biggest box (*within reason, they sell 2 of them stuck together...) for 7,000. plus I had my trade in though. Buy a small snap-on. Good luck getting your money out of a corn-ball down the road. IMO.

Well the 72" Snap On is over $8k without a hutch on it. I find the prices to be similar. Same with the quality...

My Snap On guy is a dick. My buddy is the Cornwell guy. I just traded a Snap On side box for a Cornwell tool cart. I bought a kick ass Cornwell engine stand a while back and will get another soon (geared head). They get my vote around here. Hell the Mac guy went out of business...

last time I checked cornhole was just getting just about even with snap-on's prices,I stick with snap-on due to the reliability of service, both in person and backing their tools.

  11. i think most of the mac dealers went belly up. i bought my matco 72" quad bay used in 2000 and the matco dealer said it was 10k new (it was a '99 model). i got the bottom box, hutch, cart and cover for $4500.

  12. Most of the old school Mac dealers bailed soon after Stanley bought them. I didn't know Cornwell was still in business, no dealers out here, but seems like a decent price for a box that size w/hutch, but I'd take a real close look at how the box is built, what gauge sheet metal, drawer slides, etc. and compare with Snap On or old (pre-2000) Mac.

  13. Cornwell is made by Waterloo. I just started at Waterloo in the tool and die shop. That same box was just delivered to us from the plant in Mexico, yes it's made in Mexico. I was told it sells for $15000.00. I'm at the last plant in the USA. I've been working there for 5 weeks, and the first day I started they laid off 200 people, then 2 weeks later another 50. The plant is hardly running, I don't expect to be there long. http://www.waterlooindustries.com/index.asp That's a nice tool box, but it's to big for me. Dean
