Back in the summer I ran into a guy who just moved to Meridian Mississippi from the west coast. He said that he got a job at a local HotRod shop and that he was a member here. He was a very knowledgeable and easy going guy but I forgot his name.....Maybe someone here can help.... or perhaps he will see this post himself. This is a pic of his rod as it sat the day I met him. Ive also seen it in Ol' Skool Rodz mag.

John, how about a few more pictures of that good looking ride ? Saw your picture post of the truck in Hawaii 2006, so inquiring minds want to know, how did it get to Hawaii and back ?

So, the whole Hawaii thing took some work. We decided that 8 or so of us were going to send our hot rods over to hawaii to attend the two week cruise paradise show on the big Island of Hawaii. Well, by the time we all needed to man up and do the deed we were down to three (not counting spouses of course. Myself My cousin Mike And our friend rolfe. We had a liason in Hawaii that had taken care of the pricing. I believe we had a show rate of somewhere around $1,500 round trip. We paid our money and on our determined date drove the cars down to Oakland shipping yard to be loaded in containers. When we got there the dock workers kinspected the cars ( there's a whole friggin checklist) and we loaded them. We drove our own cars into the containers and they locked them into place. When they got to hawaii we had a friend pick them up for us since we wouldn't be there for another week after and didn't want them sitting on a dock. Then return was pretty much the same. It was pretty costly for a little vacation but the hawaiians loved the cars and nothing beats blasting along the highway at 80mph with the lava fields on either side. I'm posting a couple of more pics of the truck and one of the roadster I'm working on now for you guys. hope you like them.

Yeah it was. And the best part was when the guy with the 150,000 dollar street rod blew out an airbag and broke the mounton the poker run right after making fun of my car and saying it was a good thing I brought tools. It was a good thing I brought them. The only time I used them was to loan them to him so he could fix his car. CARMA

I agree, most of the guys down here are messing with mini trucks. Not my thing. Some of them have this wacky idea that they're going to "build a rat rod" I never fault for trying, the problem is that most of the mini truckers need it explained to them that it is definately NOT acceptable to steal other peoples shit to put on their car. Anyone from around here going to Austin? I'm already planning on that one. you guys will have to keep me abreast on what's comming up around these parts. I'm still not familiar with all the shows east if the mighty mississippi.

Its a pritty big gathering. But yah, lots of billit and lots of 80's style rods. hahaha.
MIKE-3137, you from the coast? Do you know Ken Matthews? He lives in Long Beach and runs around in a flamed black 32. Very good friend of mine.
