Hey there Mr. "I can't even spell where I'm from, much less form a coherent sentence or thought", perhaps if you "lernt" how to communicate properly the vendors wouldn't be giving you the "bugger off" price. Just a thought....
the 18 years that i have been doing swap meets never had anyone say the parts were to cheap and offer me more than i was asking but they allways want me to come off the price
i cant believe anyone would do that and with the amount they took heck they would have to be driving a truck through there. most of the swaps i go to (the really big ones) the people usually stay in a tent or camper right at the spot they are at. but in general us car guys are the most honest kind of people i know!! when i picked up the side trim for my 51 i ask the guy if he knew it would fit the contour of my door and he said " there is a car like yours just over that hill and to the left a couple of rows. go try it out and see." and this was NOS Pontiac side trim. since then i always try to buy something from him every time i see him at a meet. thats why my family loves this hobby so much, every one we have ever met has been wonderful and we are always meeting more and more people the same way.
Haven't heard of any of this kind of problem in SoCal, but the meets are all one-day affairs, even the biggies(Pomona, Long Beach, San Diego, etc), and it sounds like this was an overnight lift. The exception around here is the L.A. Roadsters weekend thing, but between the Fairplex security, limited access, and the Roadster members themselves, I think any large-scale thievery would be a real challenge. Hate to hear this shit, but you know, church coffers get rifled all the time.
........."shitty vendors huh?"........It appears you never read the book..."How to win friends and influence people". Most guys that sell at swapmeets are just everyday guys selling extra parts to help pay for their projects and don't mind a 'lil wheelin' and dealin' but I don't expect them to give me the stuff. To lump them in with the "shitty vendors" is like me lumping you in with the rest of the assholes in the world.
im with you on that one, and no i dont mind wealin' and dealin' and reaching a fair price. its the rest of the assholes vendors that ruin the hobby. i know not all vendors are shitty and im sure some people give great deals out. hell i've picked up a few. but it just seems that the amount of crappy vendors keeps growin everyyear. now as far as not being able to put together a coherent sentence like someone said, oh well. i don't come here to have my writting scrutinized. if it makes you feel better to correct my grammar, correct on maestro. i'll send you a PM with a link that way you can send back a corrected copy to me. i really dont care. you don't like what i type or how i type it, don't read it. i hope they catch the dirty bastards, amazing how they got away with all that crap though.
I was selling a car once for $2300 obo...and a guy asked me if I would accept a $2500 offer...I didn`t complain..............
I was leaving a swap meet and almost forgot to buy my son a toy car. I saw one that was really cool but it was $25.00 and all I had was $15.00 in my pocket . I whined and cried and told the vendor I had only $15.00 and how broken hearted my son would be. The vendor finally said Oh alright $15.00 it is.. I said Thanks! Can you break a hundred? You fuckin c###sucker he says. I start laughing and show him I did only have $15.00 left.....
he musta got confused and thought he was dealing with one of those jokers who puts "best offer over $xxxxx" in their ads, as if the potential buyers are gonna be lined up six deep offering thousands more than the asking price. i never call on those ads.
Had an Old's engine years ago ,advertized for a week in local paper, ad stated $350.00 as is. First Dude to show up tells me he won't give a dime over $500.00 for it. DUH!
Come on Racheal move on and get over it. You don't have to keep going to prove that you're a fuckwit ........you've already convinced most of us.
