registration question

Hey



I have a question about registrations. I have bought a 36 chevy lowcab truck without a title or any identification numbers. The guy we bought it from gave us a suspence reciept that was issued in 72 and a licence plate. He told us that is the only thing he has. Now what is the next step i have to take to get a registration? Do I buy a title or do I just go to the dmv with these 2 things? Can you guys help me?

i would guess take those to the dmv and get a title and re-register it

 

i got a 54 Chevy pickup from a friend no pink or plates. it had not been registered in over 10 years. i got it running and took it to triple A and told them it has been in the family for years but the pink was lost ( i didn't say it was in my family) she came out side checked the horn lights and sent me to the weight station to get weighed $110.00 and i had plates and a title. I've had bad luck with DMV so i go to AAA or use a broker.
