Any guys out there know if a 70's 12 bolt rear 6lug axle will change out with a 5lug axle? believe there mostly 30 spline, but wasnt sure if it would work length wise. 16" six luggers are a hard wheel to find around here, at least the steel wheels are.

If they are both pickup axles I would think they will interchange. The problem maybe different size brakes that will have to stay the same as the drums.Maybe you are going to have to redrill the drums.

Off memory truck 12 bolts up to 70 had a slight shorter housing and the later 71 and up had a longer one..........off memory so I hope that I didnt reverse them. Car 12 bolts are different widths too so its always best to either get axles with the housign or know what your housing is out of.

thanks for the help guys, I actually scored some 17" six lug wires that should fit.

  5. The truck axles are the same and the shafts will swap right out with each other,

  6. The wires will need the wheel spacers to fit with the drums.
