Big Olds gets a new pair of shoes

Spent over 10 hours working on the hood today at Roadstars shop and at the end he suprised me by rolling out one of the wheels from his roadster and laying it against the front wheel of Big Olds and says "what'ya think?".

WOW, was my first word. Funny how a different set of wheels and tires can make so much difference. Both of us just stood back and noded, we knew it was right. We were like a two person Indy pit crew getting those old wheels off and the "new" ones on.

Big Olds sits alittle highter now but thats ok, he's so much "cooler" now with red wheels and whitewalls. Might even be able to get into BilletProof now without a hassle

Now all thats left is a pair of cuffed levis and I'm good to go!

 

Only a true greaser would remove polished Americans so she could run painted steelies.

If a billet "loud pedal" is ok in C9's book, it's ok in mine.... besides, I think Just Steve hand made that using just a chisel and hammer

I'll take a better photo of Big Olds tomorrow with his new shoes and NEW HOOD and post it. I was just so excited to show you guys, I couldn't wait.

Yes he did, we both worked over 8 hours BEFORE he even laid on one coat of primer. It turned out AWESOME. I certainly learned ALOT today from the "master". He's planning on doing a tech post or something. There's alot of little things that he does regarding bodywork that needs to be shared. Can't wait for you to see the hood in person this weekend.

I've never seen the engine compartment at all..., could you show us what the 455 looks like in that compartment?

I've always liked the Americans, i had a set on my 32, but it's tough to beat the timeless look of steelies and whites.

Now, you have a sleeper..dosn't Big Olds have a 455???

yep, Big Olds has a 455 and moves very nicely down the road to say the least.

I'll post a photo tomorrow of the engine compartment including the custom finned air cleaner cover that Just Steve made many years ago.

Your car runs out pretty good with the 455..., but you might re-think your rear tires..., saw a lot of tire smoke at the drags!!!

I Just got some speed goodies for my 455...! I think it'll go pretty good in my 1,900 lb Roadster...!
