have a 3 speed manual trans but cant find any sites to run the casting numbers..also if anyone has info if the trans will hold up behind a mildly built 350 chevy.got the trans from a friend for free was hoping to be a auto but turned out to be a manual trans.help would be appreciated.thanks trans case#463011 side cover#gm403952645 tailshaft#326558 bellhousing#3858403
the bellhousing is aluminum and the transmission is aluminum.looks just like a muncie 4 speed but its a 3 speed and also full synchroed.my real question is will it hold up behind a 350 chevy will try to get pics.thanks
if the trans case is aluminum it could be a muncie or borg warner, the saginaw was iron case as far as i know. check yearone, they should have rebuild kits and ID numbers. havent had any experience with the muncie or borg warner 3 spds. might be worthwhile to talk to your local dirt track guys, they like running the small stuff like that to save weight.
tried year one on the web no helpfull info .this was behind a 327 from what i was told .how much horse power can it handle?how
i just put a magnet on it it is steel.i should have done that in the first place.but will it handle some power
What do you consider to be "some power"??? Will it work behind a mild 350 that isn't pushed too hard? yes. Will it hold up to constant abuse? no.
