I realize it't not exactly a hot rod, but I thought you guys would get a kick out of my cool woods find. I told one of the plumbers at work that i was building a Model A ford frame. He said "Oh yea, I know where there are two". I got there and this is what i found. Definately not a model A, but just as cool. Its a 1957 Chevy Convertible frame :) Note the X member. Specific to convertables........

sold a regular 2 door post frame for like 250 on egay, id say the x frame is worth quite a bit more.

Yea, but what's the owner gonna say when he comes back and finds it missing????

"I was gonna restore it someday"

Cool find. You keeping it or flipping it?

  16. X-member was only on converts.

As for building the '57 convert, except for the cowl and dash ya' can buy every part to make one. They even make a repo X-member to go in a stock frame.

Still a neat find. I like the chainsaw as a tool!!

  17. Poke around some more. I suspect the other bits may be buried under some leaves or were dragged off by wild animals. I once found a woodchuck den lined with stainless bits from a Mercury Turnpike Cruiser.
