Will F100 long bed Fenders 53-56 fit on a Short Bed 53-56?

  1. Have some fenders from a 55 f100 long bed..Are this compatable to put on a 53-56 f100 short bed? the long bed was 8 foot and the short bed 6 foot, right?

    The fenders should be identical, except that a drivers side longbed fender should have the cutout for the side mounted spare tire. Bed size sounds about right

    Yep, they bolt right on.

    The 8' bed is not only longer but also wider than the short bed. As I recall, the fenders are narrower by about an inch or two.

    They are exactly the same, federwell spare is just an option, fenders did not really change at all until 1973 when ford put a gas filler in the driver side rear. 57-72's do bolt in a slightly higher location in the r-board area, but have the provisions for the earlier years as well. ALL are the same width.
