86 5.0 non ho with aod swap to carb and t-5

    hi can anyone help me out here
    1-flywheel? does it fit from a 1990 5.0
    2-dist - ihave a 1967 289 dist can i swap this out in place of the tfi dist?
    3-the heads have an air injection port in the center of the intake manifold flange but the older intake i have doesn't cover the holes in the head. can i seal the holes on the intake face and the back of the head with jb weld?

    i did try and search and could not seem to get a narrowed search showed me just about every post ever made .but what i was looking for

    thanks for the help ernie i tried using the search at the top of the page and it gave me 500 hits but nothing that related to what i needed

    yes a 90 flywheel will workon your 86 5.0 HO, you can use your 67 dist. but you will need a bronze gear on it, if you use the stock hyd.roller cam, as for the hole in the heads,block them off,good luck.

    Don't use a bronze gear, we have found they develop a lot of backlash (spark ****ter) in a short time. Ford Racing Performance Parts sells a steel gear (factory gear is steel)for use on the older distributor (smaller shaft) or use an MSD 8598 with a 6 series MSD box.

    I may be reading the ***le of the post wrong......But a "1986 non H.O. 5.0" will not need neither a bronze or a Ford Racing steel dizzy gear. The 289 dizzy will drop right in.

    You can put a freeze plug in the head if there's a counter bore. I think it's 3/8's. If not, use a set screw with thread sealer.
