Does anyone have experience (good or bad) with "Last Refuge Hot Rods" in Delores, Colorado? They offer pickup beds at prices significantly lower than other suppliers. I wonder if their quality is top-drawer...or lower-drawer. I would appreciate any feedback. THANKS.

I ordered a frame from them back in the end of Sept. and I just got it last week. I made the mistake of paying for it up front. It is missing the K member still and he said that he would have it drop shipped to me. The quality isn't bad but be prepared to wait! I would call and send emails regularly and everytime I was told it just about ready to ship. I sent an email last Thursday about the K member and I still have not heard from him. I don't think he is a crook, he is just slow. I will have to start my regular phone calls til' I get it.

I had a similiar experience to TROD. It took over 6 months to get my bed. I got every excuse in the book, including false tracking numbers months before the bed shipped out.

But the bed did come, and it is nice and affordable. Just be prepared to wait.

i got my model a bed from them. It also took about 3 months to get. it was nice but from shipping the radious on the bed sides did not match the rear u chanel and there was a bend missing from the front panel reinforcements. the bed also did not come with the front stake pockets.

Radius on bottom of bed is slightly smaller than U channel this makes welding easier as side will take shape of U channel as it is welded and clamps moved. We have a nice ***embly manual on line at our website http://www.lastrefugehotrod.com Bend on front supports is a 2 inch by 3/4 flap that is best left for ***embler to bend as some want flap inside bed and some want it outside. I may have to start asking people about this when they order as I shouldn't ***ume people have the flanging tool or a wide vise grip. You could also hammer flange over in a bench vise. Front stake pockets are not included but they are available $35.00 ea. Bed kit is kept basic to keep price low. some do not want front pocket.

    Well Norb,
All the above is nice to read but when you lie through you teeth it will not help people deal with not having the parts they have paid for. Don't give these people the line **** about having to get better. You don't ! ! ! I paid for my parts in May of 2007 and wrote e mail after e mail. When I did get some of the box sides the beads was so badly done they had to be sent back! After months the sides were re sent. Again e mail after e mail. I got tired of trying and wrote the rest of the parts off as a bad deal with a bad company. I just figured you were going to screw me for the rest of the parts - and you did.

    Norb,
All I ever wanted was to receive the parts I ordered and paid for, in full, back in May of 2007. I got tired of the bull, the phone calls and e mails asking you when I would be getting my parts. You still owe me the stainless steel bed strips and mounting hardware for the 32 Ford pickup box. Until I receive them you'r on my **** list. I would buy from you again but only with payment made after parts are received and inspected. You will have to obtain a more trustworthy rating to have me pay up front again. Burnt once - shame on you , burnt twice shame on me. If you wish you may send my parts to the same address shown on my account.
The ball is in your court, AGAIN !

Allen, we have decided not to stock those items, your refund will go out this week, sorry we thought you were taken care of a long time ago. Bad record keeping on my part, thanks for bringing it to my attention, FYI Dennis Carpenter is the man for stainless.

    Norb,
Nothing has changed!!! Your week has come and gone and you have sent nothing. What can I say??? I have only waited 2 years and 4 months for the parts. Not quite what I would call quality customer service. Yes, I know "you dropped the ball." I have already heard that you dropped the ball again. Many times !!!

Norb is the king of ****! I paid in full for a roadster project including the top, got some of the parts during the course of a year. Never got the top and you keep the money? Even legal action won't work, he's buried in Dolores, CO.
DO NOT DEAL WITH HIM AT ANY PRICE!

got my '32 frame from norb with no problems. he even did some custom stuff free of charge and he even hauled it all the way from colorado to the pomona swap meet for cheap. seems to be a mixed review.
