    To all H.A.M.B members,

We at Chopped would like to really apologise to anyone who was annoyed by the email that we sent you last night! We didn't mean to upset anyone and we hope you accept our apology.

We are keen enthusiasts and supporters of this community and just excited about the great rod and custom scene that is going on here in Australia.

Please let me know if you have any feedback directly, my email is paul.williams@chopped.com.au

Sorry again and I hope I'm not banned from the H.A.M.B!!

  2. A free issue to the mag would do it!! Hey, an apology goes along way with me, as long as a lesson is learned. Please dont do us that way again. As you all say it down under "No Worries!!!" I would take a print of the mag though!!! ETHER

SPAM sucks... Especially when sent to email addresses gathered against the terms and conditions of this website. I'm still pissed. Maybe I'll get over it.

strong words... takes a even stronger man to admit he was wrong... if i could afford your magazine, i would get it!

  5. Hey Ryan:

Can't say as I blame yah for being pissed! Funny how it works . . . seems that all one needs to do is apologize and everything is magically supposed to be cool. Apologies are okay - but in many cases they are kind of a half-assed attempt to kiss up to somebody or some group that has been wronged.

As my Pops used to say -- "Yes, I accept your apology . . . but you know dang good and well that you shouldn't have done it in the first place!". (Can't say he was wrong often in that regard).

I hope 'Chopped' has learned their lesson . . . we don't take kindly to people taking advantage of our community.

I am mostly technologically inept, but I can read fairly well, and my comprehension is pretty good:

"Copyright 2007: The Jalopy Journal & The H.A.M.B. - Steal our stuff, we'll kick your teeth in"

  9. I would have to agree a bit with this one. A first impression is free, When that doesnt go well ya gotta work for your second.

I don't know how anyone harvesting our email address' would think it is "OK". NOT COOL. A little common sense goes a long ways.

What a great way to turn off a big audience for your new magazine.

    I agree with ya...

I can vouch for willo's character..
And slightly cavalier attitude, which has obviously got him in deep shit this time!!

they are just some young enthusiastic car dudes actually doing something really cool, everyone ive sold their mag to raves about it. about time australia had a proper 'little mag'

pull yer head in willo, you bloody ranga.

  12. Now that you have my Email account without my permission and sending me unsolicited crap, when can I expect the emails to stop. And I hope I don't see any other crap from someone else you may have sold my info to!

I don't mind reading and hearing about new publications, its all about the etiquette or lack of in which the information was delivered. This is one case where the old antage " I'd rather ask for forgivness than ask for permission" does NOT work for me.

  13. GEE... Paul Thanks for the "Chopped Apology" i dont think your going to get much out of the HAMB now!! Black ball there ass Ryan!

  14. You know what they say…..It's easier to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission.

It looks like you may have a good mag but ripping emails would make me drop the axe if I were in Ryans shoes.

  15. personally i would like to know who has acess to the address's that were phished ?? these address's can be bartered and sold same as cash.. just my 2cts..

Three times today I have had to deal with Spam on an e-address that I try to keep clean. The "Chopped" email even showed up on a speed list that I subscribe to, so it wasn't just the Hamb subscribers. I'll have nothing to do with Choppeddotcom

  17. When you signed up on the HAMB you filled out a spot where your Email is available. Look at your profile and on the right side there is a spot where you can send anyone an email if you entered that information in your profile data.

If you allow other members of the board to send you emails, people like the guy that started this thread can illegally (it's against or terms and conditions that are signed at registration) harvest your email address.

I'm sorry if I'm coming off like a hard ass here, but I have ZERO tolerance for this kind of shit.

    Hi guys,

We have certainly learned our lesson on this one, and will definitely not be doing it again. Please be assured that your emails have not been sold and will never be made available to anyone, thats not what we are about.

Ryan we sincerely apologise to you personlly for taking advantage of your members.

    Hey,diamondwillo-

Harvesting all those addresses must have been a lot of work.
Did you contact Ryan and just ask him for a list?

    Why not?
Did you already know what the answer would be?

Then I guess you're not really sorry for doing it, you just feel sorry for yourself that you got caught. There's a big difference.

    back to hot rods...

  30. i DO realize that my e-mail address is open to the other members of the board and i dont have a problem with that at all , but when another member uses the their member privilage for their own personal gain by phishing address's and accumulating e-mail lists and then making public apology's it still makes me wonder who and where these lists go in this age of techno bable where just about anything is possible ..
