Here's a few of mine. A work in progress. Black and white shot is an early mock-up. Color shot is a couple weeks ago when I set the motor in the frame for, hopefully, the final time.

    yes they do
the number 44 on my first car is because of my family's race cars always being 44 & 45
44 was on a 29 roadster that they built right after WWII for racing at the local dirt tracks
I'm thinking about changing it though

the other numbers on my other car 214, Jer's 207 and Roger's 203 are in refrence to the FLYERS club listings from 1941, they were given numbers 200-219 so we've all been trying to stick with them to keep with the club

Thanks Not Josh for the info. Very sweet! Does he still have it? Some of the other pics look like the same car reworked.

here is some photos of my roadster... I've been working on it for a couple of years... I've lost interest in it... I need to get back on it or sell it! It need to be finished. Someday I guess I will get back on it.

If I was to start over again I would use 32 rails for sure. I think that is the coolest look you can get... and they make the little A's sit really nice!

    Here's a story for ya...

About 10 years ago my dad and I were walking around El Mirage on a Saturday evening before a meet. Ya know, just saying hi to folks and making our rounds. He came across a friend who had a bitchin A roadster on 32 rails with a flattie motor and a three speed. After checking the car out for a while the owner asks if we want to take it for a spin. I thought "Oh cool, I get to go for a ride with my old man". Ha not quite.

The owner asks me if I know the shift pattern for a Ford three speed and I say "yes" and he throws me the keys and says "Good, then you won't have any problems driving it." Holy shit, I'm 16 or 17 and I get to drive this guy's roadster?? No way!

I cruised around the lake bed for a while with my dad in the passenger seat before it got dark. Oh man I'll never forget that ride. The sights, sounds, and smell are permanently emblazed in my mind.

A few weeks ago I was talking to someone who mentioned Jack Underwood and his racing history. I asked my dad if he knew Jack to which he answered "Yeah, I know Jack... you know him too. You drove his roadster out at El Mirage a few years ago."
