My name is Trevor. I'm a student at Kansas State University. I love cars from the forties and fifties. I joined HAMB to get some information on my 59' Ford Custom 300 4 door with the 223 inline six. I've decided that I can't afford to restore it, so I want to rod it.

I would like to get some (naturally aspirated) power out of my 223. I have heard that the only way to do this is to shave the head for higher compression. I'm not sure if that is what I want. Has anybody done this, and if so what, how did it work? Also, I have thought about trying to make it rev a little higher by getting the crank counter weighted. Is this possible on these old engines? Should I waste my money on trying it? Were could I get it done at?

    Thank for any info.
Happy to be apart of HAMB

wd-40, one of only two tools you need in your toolbox. The other is duct tape.
So, if it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
