HAMB Relay?? Texas to Connecticut

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HotRod28AR, Feb 11, 2008.

  1. Hey guys, I bought a kick *** old fibergl*** hood for my '55 Chevy in Texas but all the shipping companys are either giving me outrageous prices to ship it or saying they can't at all. I know it's a long shot but I'm kinda desperate, anyone heading up towards CT? The hood is 60"x53"x16" and weighs 20lbs. Any help or ideas would be really great, thanks

  3. hey kb, I already did. I've used them before for large items. I put the info in there site and it said something like that, $50 bucks. But when I called, the guy said one of my measurments was too large...which I think is a bunch of ****, but I can't do anything about it haha

I ship from my ups store. Shipped a 68 Charger hood (bigsum*****) was about 190.00 Didn't go ups, went freight, but you should be alot less, cause mine was heavy too. Good luck

Make sure that thing is crated up well with Uship contractors. I've used them twice and both times my stuff came to me damaged. This last time it came 2 weeks later too and I had to unload it. With those discount people you get what you pay for.

I`m in Wichita Falls, TX. I could get it this far north, might even be able to go pick it up in Arlington if timing works out right. I could store it here until somebody comes through going that way ....

  16. Thanks alot guys, if I can't figure out something really soon it sure would be a big help if someone wants to hold onto it for a while, I appreciate it

I'm in MD near Annapolis. Get it within 100 miles of me, I can store it inside for a while - my dad or I drive to Maine about every 3 months, could bring it to you on the way if no one else can sooner.
